Plain and simple 1/8th is easier on parts. Run lasts less time, less rpm, etc. Its simple physics at that point. Less fuel consumed during a run, less fuel consumed on the return road cause we aint driving back up a half a mile. Less heat in the engine and tranny, the list goes on.



Just think of how much stuff you would save if you didn’t run at all!




When I raced my 10 second Dart or my 8 second Duster running 1/4 was fine. Now that I pay to race a mid 6 second Outlaw car I really appreciate the benefits of running 1/8th mile. Our junk will go close to 190 to 660' and that's enough thrill for any of us.
