Thanks for mulling this over, some more.

Like I said, this question just struck my mind and instead of contacting Mythbusters I wrote on Moparts with the predictable quick and favorable results. This is not something that I want to do, but I live a long ways from any decent parts store so sometimes necessity is the mother of invention. Now, me and others know that this is at least a possible set-up should the occasion arise.
