this is the ONLY lifter with this damage...the others are worn, but still shiney and flat...




this is the cam from the 318...notice the second lobe is GONE its actually almost perfectly ROUND




And amazingly, she still ran good...not great, but good...in an attemp to get this 318 going for another few weeks, I went ahead and threw the 360 cam and lifters in there. HOPEFULLY it lasts a couple more months until I can get the 360 back together..

So my questions is...WHAT caused this?? Lack of lubrication, a weak valve spring, faulty (probably original) lifter??

I KNOW there might be metal particles in the oil. I flushed as much as I could, and luckily there wasn't much on the oil plug magnet.

Hopefully she runs great monday on my way to work...yesterday sh didn't want to run hardly and I had to take today off...I can't WAIT for monday
