Let your engine(s) tell you what weight likes... if hot oil presure is good with 10W30 than that's what I'd run. If a little low, run the 10W40. Generally engines built with stock or near stock clearance do fine on 10W30. Engines with hi-po clearances may like the 10W40, especially if you do street driving that may force you to idle while hot for a while.
