IMO the exact tire and application is important when talking about how a slick works (the "best" tire).

I am getting ready to pull the trigger and buy another set of 31.25 x 12.2 W. This is the size I have been running with great success for many years. My current set has 150 passes on them, and were still working great last weekend on a good track. But I want to be ready to put new ones on later this month (I have two sets of rims).
