If you leave the grease fitting off you would have to look pretty close to notice the inner part of the hinge has a slighty larger diameter where the pin should be. I have them on one of my Hemi cars and even after 23 years not one show car judge has caught it.. I make my sleeves out of stainless.
But I know you do pretty rare customer cars and that's a lot different than doing your own car.

If you don't mind a little more extra work, you can always drill out the damaged holes and tig weld a short(1/4") stainless bushing in...

or go the easy way out and buy the repair kit sold at many parts stores.
