Hi all i just picked up a 66 coronet 440 project car (basket) its currently dissasembled and the body is at paint right now. I want to start collecting parts to get the car running. I want the car to be a good fun cruising car, able to cruise down the freeway, that idles almost stock drives almost like stock but has a butt load of power when I need it. So this is what I am looking at building. Anyways I am starting with a 69 440, scat rods, studs and girdle, TRW forged pistons should be 8.2-1, steel crank. 906 heads, stock size valves, with some mild port work, hydraulic cam 228at .050 int and exhst, .492lift on a 113lobe sep. M1 single plane 48lbhr injectors, megasquirt, 1000cfm tbody, Custom log manifolds, single masterpower t76 Q trim with 1.00 a/r. I also have a nice water to air intercooler I might try out if I have enough room.
The trans is a 727 that will be getting performance rebuild with a mild shift kit, 2400 stall converter, and the rear will be an 8 3/4 with either 2.76 or 2.93 gears, cant remeber wich right now. the car is getting mini tubs and relocated springs. tires will hopefully be 325/45/17 drag radials My goal would would be to run in the 12s or faster and still be able to cruise on the hiway.
So what do you guys think? Should it do what i want?
Thanks
