If you turn all the way to the right then try to turn back to the left does it quit right there or can you turn the wheel some before it stops assisting? Also try and raise the engine rpm up to about 2k and see if it changes. If so the pump could be the culprit. Havent seen to many metering valves in those
gear boxes go bad unless they have been crashed.




It won't turn left at any index in the steering. I put it in neutral and raised the rpm to 2-3K and no change.



If everthing else has checked out ok, the next thing to look at as some of the other posters said was the metering valve in the gear box.
