383man asked for a couple of pics, so here they are. So far, the new fuel system's plumbed, battery switch is in, shifter & electrical stuff has a bracket for the 4-speed hump, MSD is in, additional wiring & sender plumbing is in, rear springs done, subframe ties are done, MC, line-loc & plumbing are done. Now I'm just waiting on the machine shop, and the car will have its drivetrain plucked and a rearend built from one of my spare housings. It gets bigger rear tires on wider wheels once the rearend's narrowed to fit them.
Made the ties from 56" of 2x2 with 2x5 front gusset plates, as that size fit inside the rear rails once I cut them open; drilled a couple of holes in the rear rails for plug-welds and welded around the 2x2 where they meet the car.
Rear springs are a combination of the OEM main & 2nd leaf, 3 leaves of my old 002/003 SS springs, and another leaf from the OEM springs turned around & re-drilled.
Holley blue pump & battery switch mount to the trailer hitch, MSD to a fabbed bracket that fits between the grille & lower valance; trying not to drill any holes in the body.
Battery pretty much has to go in the spare tire well; wanted to put it behind the R/R tire to offset the L/R OEM gas tank, but that won't work w/o welding & killing the paint.
