35" tires with 3.23s puts your 60mph rpm at 1862 plus a little for slip, 1954 rpm at 5%. So you do need a short cam. A Comp XE250 or Lunati VooDoo 60300 cam will work better than the stocker.

Tightening up the LSA from the stocker's probably 114 or 115 degrees to a 110 would close the intake valve earlier and give you more midrange.

Long tube headers will help too, if you rejet the carb to get the A/F ratio right.
