Since I asked for positive thoughts, I figure a track report is in order. Today (Sat 8/20) was the first race of the weekend double header, $2k to win in Mod ET (footbrake).

The time trials looked good, 88F, 33%rh:

RT 0.026 0.007
60 1.286 1.286
1/8 5.902 5.900

That second time trial was also the optional bogey run with $5 entry and half goes to the best package and half to the racer's fund for the bracket finals. That 0.0070 package was good enough for me to win $62, which covered the entry fee for the race. Another racer had a 0.003 RT, but didn't run the number, and another had a 0.0085 package.

First Round
I ran a 1968 Barracuda and it looked like this:
_Jim_ Bradley
5.90 _ 7.49 Dial-in
0.038 0.038 RT identical
1.291 1.614 sixty foot
5.909 7.505 ET
Jim MOV 0.0068

Second Round
Bradley ended up winning 1st round reentry, so he was back in 2nd round. And can you believe we got paired again?
_Jim_ Bradley
5.90 _ 7.49 Dial-in
0.021 0.055 RT
5.933 7.564 ET
I ran him down and hit the brakes. I estimated my car would have gone 5.91, as the humidity went up to 72% (ethanol fuel).

So I ate dinner while they ran 2nd round reentry...
Third Round
_Jim_ Tony
5.91 6.76 Dial-in
0.052 0.018 RT
1.285 1.503 sixty foot
5.904 6.766 ET

So I was late and he made me pay the price.

Well nothing broke, the car ran well, and I won my entry money in the bogey and didn't have to pay any reentry fees.
So I will be back at the track on Sunday for the second $2k footbrake race.
