What's up, all. I've always heard that putting new heads on a used engine would cause it to mess up sooner or later. Is this an old wives tale or no? TIA for any help.

its a chebby thing

but it comes from the idea...if you shave to raise comp ratio,do a valve job so seals up the cyl good.

the used and worn rings will have more blow-by from the pressure in the cyl.

comes from chebby guys explaneing why they have blow-by on their re-ring amd dingleberry hone job

my 360 head 318 cop engine is a 88 and never had the heads off yet,I added a roller cam in 07' , its been by me for over 10 yrs now

I know why i cant tune the miss out,and know why it blows 2 qrts oil a week, and know why its low on power...it worn out!

I think I could prove the myth if i just did a valve job and left the rings as is at this point...it well over 300,000 miles

run what ya brung
