Surface prep is more important than what you use although some of the better paints will last longer.

If you can get it blasted that is best. Check for cracks while the paint is off. Paint it as soon as you can after blasting, and if you handlked it it won't hurt to spray it off with thinner to remove any oily spots.

One thing to remember is that it is possible for oxides to form on the surface without the surface looking orange. They disrupt the adhesion of the paint. So time is critical.
