It is not a difficult job. Remove the springs, then remove the bolt retaining clips from the bolts that mount into the bottom of the seat. Extend the track fully in one direction. There is a factory hole on the top of the guide. You can use a small screw driver to help move the metal (70-71) or nylon (72+) bearing guide out. Extend it in the other direction while trying to keep the metal/nylon guide from going back the other way. It will be clear when you try it. You can get new bolt retaining clips at any hardware store, so just cut them off.
