Well, on the bright side, if you got crossed up enough on the big end, it would still be effective.

Probably a good indication that if you ran the formula for hood scoop size vs engine demand you'd find the scoop is too big and creating excessive drag. Thankfully it didn't damage the windshield tho.

Scoops can catch a ton of air. Years ago when I put a 440 6 pack hood on my old Duster the first pass I noticed it was bowing up in the middle bad. This was only running mid 11s. It broke the middle support. I figured it was cracked or something so the next week fixed and supported it and it broke it again....  It was a hinge latch setup and the scoop caught so much air it pulled the latch setup out of the hood eventually. Had to pin it down.

Don't you have a cowl hood for that car? It's probably faster.
