All the new factory crate engines are VVT. 2009 up 5.7 and all 6.2-6.4 are VVT.
I can't help on oil pans.

Have you looked at non factory crate engines? When searching for a builder for a 440 I learned quickly that so many shops have switched to building Gen3 Hemis and gotten out of the business of the old stuff for the most part. Not only big ones like Hughes and Mancini but the smaller mom and pop shops. They can build you a nice crate Gen3 however you want. Just a thought.

Holley has some good videos up about their stuff and gen III. Motortrend/hot rod does too. There are other options https://www.bouchillonperformance.com/mancini

Hadn't thought of that option, got any leads for 3G builders?
Thx I'll post my 440 swap thread here. There were several recommended builders by members here and when I called them they pretty much all but said "not interested we only do Gen3 hemis now"

What does VVT stand for I'm starting to think of trying to a Gen 3 motor (instead of another stroker B motor) for a car I own and want to experiment with one of them I know there is a lot to learn hence me asking about this Thanks in advance: Cab

Not sure if you found your answer yet, but the retrofit pans are the same, it's the oil pick-up tube that changes with the later vvt engines. Since the Holley pans come as a kit, you'll see them advertised by vvt and non-vvt, which is just a way to describe early versus late engines. 09 and up with Eagle Heads are VVT

I was going to start cruising the junkyards within a 150 mile radius east of Bend looking for motor in a pickup for my first Gen 3 Hemi project. What is, in all of your opinions, is the best one to start with, remember I'm old school and like big C.I. to start with and I don't mind having a iron block What years did the 6.2 and 6.4 motors come in? Did Dodge make any of the later pickups with a SRT type 6.2 or 6.4 motor in them? I'm not looking for a blown motor but if they are out there I won't rule the out, depending on the price. Last question I can think of now is which brand EFI adapter ECU kit will work with those motors in a early 1967 B body? I'm not a ECU tuner but I can learn and adapt No real reason not too Thanks in advance for all of your help on this deal

Holley has efi that will work with these engines. They along with EFI source in Pennsylvania are two of the biggies. Mopar has what they call plug and play kits- if you are leaving the engines stock these are by far the easiest ways to go. A few simple connections and you are running/driving. As far as what engine would be best for you, I would like to ask what your intentions are as far as driving/racing, and will you ever want a power adder?
