To the Spectators and Racers of Onondaga Dragway,

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we have to deliver this message to you: We have been fighting for 6 years with everything that we have to keep the track open, unfortunately, it wasn’t enough.

It’s so heartbreaking with all of the sweat equity that we and others have put into this Historical Iconic track to make it a clean, safe and great family atmosphere for everyone to enjoy, that few think it’s such a nuisance for the community and it’s enough to close it back down.

We can’t thank you enough for all of your support. We made some of our best memories at the track with our track family and you!

We have no words, we are beside ourselves, we don’t know where to go from here.

Maybe things do happen for a reason....it’s bittersweet that Dan was able to make the final pass down Onondaga Dragway.

On a slightly different note, If anyone heard about a come back for Englishtown/Raceway Park, they are demoing the track.

This place has all new pavement, new guard rails. It's out in farm land. I don't know why people were against it. I believe the main guy behind it passed away. It had been open for 3 years after a lengthy battle. 25 miles south of Lansing Mi.

Suppossidly only tearing down the concrete barriers, been over a year now still hurts…. R.I.P. Raceway Park ….. on a better note some of the former RP racers have come to Island Dragway and have fit in nicely , increasing car counts and doing quite well.

Its a local track for us...Its a shame how three people can put up a #itch and get a track shut down.....they don't race at night time and only on Friday's and Saturday's during the day light

Fixed it.

The metropolis would have to spread a long way for this track to threaten it. It’s one neighbor with money. He managed to stop them for two years but a judge ruled in the tracks favor and they opened last fall. He must have found another angle to get them [censored] down again.

As I remember there were 2 main opponents a farmer claimed the noise bothered the animals. And a mobile home park owner.

That's a good one. Right across the road from Maple Grove Raceway (in Reading, PA) is a dairy farm. Atleast it was still there the last time I was there. I always figured they would get milk shakes when they milked the cows after the fuel cars ran during the nationals. But apparently not.

This is always bad news to hear about. Local track to me is closed now due partly to poor management and the locals (transplant retired folk) complaining. Doesn't help that it's in North Myrtle Beach where land is a premium, even if it does flood occasionally.

There is a Go Fund Me set up to try to save this track. They need a LOT of money.
