Not sure where this occurred, or exactly when...likely early 1970's.

I remember a magazine write up on that Daytona back in the 90's??
It was in the body shop that got washed away.
Despite being written off by the insurance company,The car still exists.
It sat for years in a auto wrecking yard that eventually got auctioned off.
That is to the best of my knowledge,if anyone can correct me or add to this, much appreciate it.

Got an e-mail from a buddy yesterday on this car & it's story:

________________________________________________________

I found out a bit more information on this car. Here is what was said on the Winged Warriors Facebook:

I bought my Daytona from Richard Williams in Enid OK in 03, He told me that the flood car was his. Mr. Williams owned Sooner auto salvage in Enid for 30+ years, he also told me that he bought the car back from the insurance co and in his words JUST SCRAPED IT OUT, putting the 440 in a wrecker. He also told me that he still had the title for that daytona. Also he told me that the flood daytona was hemi orange and when he bought the one that i have now witch was R4 originally and was black when he bought it, he painted it just like the one that was wrecked. I have all the paper work that MR Williams had for my daytona and he bought in late 73, i also tracked down the original owner of my daytona and spoke with the man. He sold it to MR williams in late 73. I can call MR williams to get more info on this if i want to, i do not think that green daytona was his. JR jAMES.
