Oil pans? - 09/01/21 11:31 AM
Looking at aftermarket oil pans, I see there are different pans offered for up to 2008 non VVT, thne the newer 5.7-6.4 and a separate pan for a Hellcat 6.2. What's the difference between them? I have one Steffs pan available but I believe it's for a non VVT engine. Any possibilities it would fit the Hellcat 6.2?

I'm not much help other than I have an 09+ pan for my eventual engine and an 05 core engine I've used for mock ups and the pan does not completely fit flush and correct, so something is different.

I’ve never tried but heard the bolt pattern was the same. I believe the difference is the pickup tube. That’s for everything but the 6.2, not sure about that one.

The front cover on VVT motors are bigger. I believe this is to fit the cam phase install. So no a non VVT oil pan does not fit a VVT motor.

All the aftermarket pans fit any gen 3 hemi. The pickup is different . I have used the same milodon pan on 5.7, 6.4, 6.1 enigines different pickup needed for the 6.4 and eagle 5.7.

Is the Holly cast aluminum pan the best choice now?
