highest mileage 5.7, stock untouched - 11/09/20 11:01 PM

Just curious how many miles (kilometers up here) that people are getting on stock 5.7 ?? My 06 Magnum RT AWD is at 223,000km (138,500miles) . . . and all seems totally fine, oil pressure 20lb @ idle and pops right up to 50lb over 1000rpm, no strange noises, ticks, etc., uses about 1/2 litre of oil between changes (every 5000km - 3000miles). I have never changed valve cover gaskets, cause never had the valve covers off or seen any leaks ! . . . always changed plugs every 50k km (30k miles), replaced thermostat, radiator and power steering pump and camshaft sensor. . . . had the car since new. . . .

I have a 2007 Magnum R/T that I have driven since new. It has 178,000 miles+ with no engine or transmission issues.

Most of the time Mobil 1 with 10,000 mile oil changes.

Lots of road miles until recently.

My sons 2011 ram 5.7 was replaced by the dealer at 395,000 due to lifter tick. The truck now has 568,000 miles on it

2003 1500 Not really as much as some of you at 155,000. BUT, 120,000 was pulling my 24 foot enclosed trailer with a 63 Plymouth in it. As far as the whole truck goes, other that tires shocks and brakes, the ONLY things I've replaced was front and rear wheel bearings. Oh, and one rear tail lamp. That is it.

Edit whoops, almost forgot, a couple of idler pullies on the belt drive.

Not the highest by any means, but my 06 Magnum is at 145k. It's got an exhaust leak under acceleration, but other than that it's great!

I live in Manitoba, 05 Magnum RT, 270,000 kms on it. Gets driven every day, 365 days a year. Only thing I've replaced outside of normal maintenance is the crank sensor, a t-stat, oil pressure sensor, and A/C compressor. Runs pretty good but you can tell it's getting abit tired, will likely replace the timing chain this spring.

I think with our climate, you'd have to multiply your mileage by 1.5-2X to compare it to fair weather cars mechanically. 0 to -40 F is a real killer on vehicles

2012 Ram 1500 4x4 has 224,500 miles on it and is driven every day. I still pull a car trailer with it. It has had a lifter tick for 120,000 miles now. No other issues beyond that. General maintenance only, by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. I have had it since new, almost 8 years now.

THis truck is at 354,000 miles.
Original serpentine belt and tensioner, starter, alternator, water pump, power steering pump and A/C compressor.
Plug changes every 40,000, trans service every 50,000.
I did replace the EGR valve and thermostat. I replaced the A/C condenser fan twice. I'm on my second radiator.

What do you do when you have the transmission serviced? Flush and oil and filter change?
Thanks!

Re: highest mileage 5.7, stock untouched - 11/19/20 09:19 AM

I do it myself. There are 2 filters inside the trans. Both get replaced along with what drains from the pan.
I have had to replace the transmission control module twice. That requires removal of the valve body!

Re: highest mileage 5.7, stock untouched - 11/19/20 02:35 PM

When I sold my '03 Ram 2500 it had a little over 258,000 miles on it. As far as I know it had never been apart.

It had most of the usual issues (exhaust manifold leaks, the buyer told me he found oil pan rot) but it kept chugging along.

As a fellow owner of an '06 Magnum R/T AWD & a '70 road runner, I'll just say you have excellent taste in cars! 130,200miles on the wagon.

9,800 miles last I checked on my '07 stock Hemi

By the looks of your mileage the truck should last a couple more centuries.

So glad I bought a Dodge. up

132,000+ on my 2011 Ram 1500 5.7L, stock, only changed the oil (Valvoline Full Synthetic) and plugs. Had the Variable Cam solenoid fail last year, replaced under warranty. Transmission filter fell off (dropped into pan), and started sucking air, couldn't move, so that had to be towed into the dealership and fixed (under warranty). Radio replaced once, under warranty, and I've replaced the brakes (twice), battery (once) and tires are the 4th set to be on this truck.

219,000+ miles on my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7. I am the original owner and it is bone stock with no issues. It has had a couple sets of spark plugs and gets regular oil & filter changes.

My 06 Ram 5.7 didn`t have any internal engine issues with 120,000 on it when it was sold. Now the rest of the truck was a different story. I don`t even feel like listing them.

Re: highest mileage 5.7, stock untouched - 12/11/20 06:16 PM

My 2004 Ram has about 150,000 miles on it. Just standard maintenance so far. The EGR went bad about 8 years ago so that cost $100 at the dealer. Otherwise just oil changes, filter changes and coolant flushes. I think the plugs have been changed a couple of times but plug wires might be original. I don't remember every detail of the past 15 years of maintenance.

Re: highest mileage 5.7, stock untouched - 02/11/21 05:22 PM

I had a 2011 ram with almost 300,000 when the lifter wiped out the cam, figured whole engine would be wore slap out so I put in a rebuilt motor and when I eventually disceted the original it looked nearly new, bearings didn''t show any wear and there was no ridge in the bore just a slight wave you could barely feel, had cross hatch all the way up,%95 of the piston coating was still like new. I could have put in a new cam/lifters and got another 100,000 easily without even cleaning out the oil pan.

05 Power Wagon, stock 5.7, 320,000 kms. Engine untouched other than water pump, plugs and coils. Runs fine, does not use excessive oil. Change oil every 5-6,000 kms.
