The early truck timing cover/accessory drive with the radiator hose going to the dr's side could help me package the turbo on the pass side - is it interchangeable with both car and truck eagle engines?

and/or does that early waterpump interchange with the later cover aside from any belt interference to deal with?

Early waterpump won't work with later timing cover because early pump impeller protrudes beyond the pump gasket face. It relies on the timing cover for clearance.

I'm wondering about interference to VVT cam sprocket now with early cover.

I'm pretty sure the 6.1 and the early non-VVT 5.7 are the same. They are not interchangeable with the Eagle 5.7, 6.4 etc.... the VVT stuff.
