Hellcat crate in old iron performance? - 02/21/20 03:16 PM

Just curious if anyone has had/seen old iron with a Hellcat engine run at the track? Just curious what the real world performance is in this swap? Thanks

Thanks, it is a blast.

Hellcat takeout engine:
Lower 10% ATI
Upper hellraiser 2.72 pulley
ID1050X injectors

The rest of engine is 100% stock

Using hellcrate PCM kit. I tune with HpTuners

Cope 727 with T-Brake
A reworked PTC converter that was originally way too loose and they didn't want to work with me on tightening it up. Atlantic coast converter changed it up some, but its still needs tightened a little more down track. They are building me a new one now.
Leave off brake at 2400, flashes to 5,000 or so. Shift 6500-6600

Dana 60, ladder bars with 3.73 gear.

RonP, I have seen your car on Facebook and YouTube before. Your car is amazing! Seeing your car run pretty much finalized my decision to hellcat swap my GTX in the near future. Keep up the good work!

So is it safe to assume an out of the crate Hellcate engine with Mopar ECM in a 3800lbs e body could get in the high to mid tens?

Wallace says

Your ET / MPH computed from your vehicle weight of 3800 pounds and HP of 707 is 10.20 seconds and MPH of 132.45 MPH.

I ran the car before the upper pulley with only the lower which added a little less than 3lbs of boost and the car ran 10.00

I used the Mopar crate kit....It was really simple and the car started the very first time I tried it.

I was always curious how a 3 speed auto like the 727 would work with the hellcat motor. I guess it works pretty good! smile
