You’re limited by the lift on the cam. You cant do more than .525 lift.

I don’t know about 87, but I’ve seen a stock head and small 212/212 .525 cam put down a solid 325rwhp. Timing makes solid power per degree with the good chamber on these, and you’d be leaving power on the table by not using 93.

Thx AP .... jsta trying to put together thoughts on a rat rod project a bud has ... but he wants to stick to pump regular and keep the MDS. But some of these motors and transmission cores are not cheap at all. Then there is the rebuild costs.

He’s more thinking in the line of a 360 ... unless you can advise diff.

As Sgt Schultz said .... I know nothing ... about the 3rd gen hemis whistling

i think there are rebuilts out there for about $2500--check craigs--they want a core usually---and just run a 518 tranny---with either a new flexplate or torque converter--cant remember which sticks them together----my son built mine with a purple cam and i thought it pulled about 400 hp.on a stock computer...but i am old and easily impressed--this 300c has more power than any 440 i have run and the 300c weighs almost 1000 # more than the e body.....

went on craigs----reman advertised at 3200-----running truck motors around 2000-----i bought a whole 300c with a running motor for 1000---drove it--pulled to put in my 69 fury---there are 2 sellers on ebay that are buying dealer warranty motors that are over date for the warranty cars and they are a factory reman---my friend has bought 3 like that.....bob....also those ebay sellers have gm -ford-and diesel motors as well---they show an inventory list and all the prices...

You guys need to start networking with the off road, truck pullers and backyard junkers.

I have four 5.7's in my shop....the newest one (2014) was $300... just bought one for $50.00 that runs good. One came from a body shop, another from a demo derby guy and two more from guys doing truck pulls.

They are everywhere and cheap.
