So would a Hellcat blower support a 426 cube stroker?

I would say so, there are several stroker hellcat challengers out and about now. It would be one wicked ride for sure.

Hmmmm I'm not sure. There is a bunch of cubic inch differance from a 6.2 And a 426......i would think if it would support a 426. They would not put a larger blower on the demon when it's the same size motor
What's a 6.2 377 or so. inches?

Correct on the cubes...the stock Hellcat blower is rated a 2.4L, the Dragpak uses a 2.9 Whipple, and there is a couple new blowers out there that are considerably bigger.

The Hellcat pushes the 377 cube engine to 10-11psi.....If I go with one of those and add 50 cubes, I would have to over drive it. Any idea how much to get back to 11psi?

Thats what %9 bigger or so? Seems around %10 OD would allow similar levels of boost, I am sure it is not an exact thing but it should get you in the ball park.

Plenty of overdriven Hellcat blowers as well. They seem to be able to deliver more psi when overdriven and not just create heat.

And a bunch of the overdrive blowers with fail bearings. Just buy a demon blower. Or. Kenne bell has a 4.2 blower...

They seem to have no problems keeping up with 426 cube motors. They ofcoarse need to be spun faster to produce the same boost. On a std HC a 10% OD lower will add about 3 psi. Going from a std 3.35" blower to a 2.65 one as well will give you around 18-19 psi. Change the motor to 426 cubes with head work and a different cam and the same pullies that gave 19 psi is now down around 11-12 psi.

Spinning them faster doesnt seem to be a catalyst for bearing failures

they fail no matter the rpm,

I thought they've updated the blowers and fixed the bearing problems?

Yes, there are certain part numbers on the blowers that are " updated and fine"

I can understand that. From what I have read there are several batches with noisy bearings. Sucks to be sure. Has your neighbor had his blower replaced?

Re: Hellcat Blower - 03/12/18 06:01 PM

Dealer replaced it in Nov, and when it started again in early Feb that's when we changed it out for a new 4.5l Whipple,
We have salesman here at work that has a 2015 with 45k on it supercharger was replaced at 11k and it's been good since. Now both of these guys will tell you FCA bent over backwards to keep them satisfied.

Guess when I see a cheap one for sale on ebay, I know why.

I saw mention on Hellcat.org of a guy who offers rebuild services for these blowers with a new problem solver bearing that’s supposed to fix this. Of course it’s a proprietary bearing that he doesn’t sell to anyone
