04 truck 5.7 altenator control? - 07/11/17 06:16 AM

Not sure if I should call it control. I have a 04 5.7 truck Hemi going in a 69 Bee. Decided to go holley HP efi it will do everything but control the alternator. I am also using an American Autowire harness witch wants you to use a single wire alternator. Options? Is there an Internally regulated Denso style alt that will work? I need as muck amperage as possible. Or is there a way to wire up the stock 04 to work without an external regulator? I really don't want a gm style alt on this. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

I've used a small Geo one wire alternator but I doubt it would meet you electrical needs.

Why don't you just wire in an external regulator? The connector is $25 at rock auto and you can use an old school regulator.

go with a trasnpo volt reg #IN8315----it goes inside the case of the alternator and turns it into a one wire-----we use them on cummins conversions into older or non dodge trucks---my son buys them 3 at a time on amazon or ebay---dont want to get caught short....

Filled all the holes on firewall for a clean look. I may end up using one and mount on frame rail or somewhere. Just looking at all options.
