Spring Fling Speed Festival XVII - 13 April 2023 - 01/30/23 06:17 PM

Alltime Racing's annual Spring track day is Thursday 13 April 2023.

This is the day before the Spring Fling Malibu cruise (Friday 14 April)
This is only two days before the big CPW Club Spring Fling car show & swap meet in Van Nuys (Saturday/Sunday 15/16 April)
Make a long weekend of it all!

SFSF is held on the Big Willow track at Willow Springs in Rosamond CA (northeast of L.A. along the SR-14 Antelope Valley Freeway).

Having attended both Speed Ventures and Alltime Racing track days, I can tell you that the latter is much less frenetic than the former.

Lighter attendance means a day at the track with Alltime Racing equals:
Plenty of high-speed track time and challenge from similarly-skilled drivers, if you fall into that group.
Very supportive to the newbie, if you have never been to a track day.
A place for you on the track if you fall in between the two extremes.

Bench racing, swapping of lies, grilling, and 12 ounce curls on the Wednesday afternoon before.

It always amazes me how many attendees come from greater distances, compared to just a few from the L.A. area.
One would think with almost 20 million people in the L.A. basin, more drivers would cruise out just past Lancaster to blast around "The Fastest Road in the West".
Remember, this is just before the big show in Van Nuys. You car is already prepped for THAT show... come on out to Willow Springs!
$10 admission for spectators - just come and watch if you're not up to running your car, or are sitting on the fence.

Thursday schedule:
Gates open at 0700
Cafe open for breakfast
0830- Mandatory Drivers meeting
0900- Advance group on track/Beginners class in classroom
0930 Intermediate group on track
1000- Beginners on track
1200-1245 lunch
1700- Checkered flag

No Passengers, WSIR rule. Helmet required. OEM seat belts OK

$375, or $325 early bird discount if you beat the upcoming 14 February deadline.

Get a BIG Discount if you bring a new friend who has never run with Alltime before.

We have been spectators several times. I'll never build a track car, but it's always a blast just to be there.

One question, though. Does WSIR allow overnight RV parking (Wed. night) for a fee? Or some place close by?

Yes [no fee], and there are typically one or a few racers who sleep at the track Wednesday night in their rigs

My experience has been
declaring "I'm with Tim's group running Thursday",
signing their release sheet,
paying the $10,
getting a WSIR wrist band,
and driving on in.

One pays to get human beings into the facility,
and not entrance or parking fees for vehicles or trailers.

I usually drive onto WSIR Wednesday afternoon before the track day just to hang out,
and I am never interrogated as to my plans for the night.
