LCA rubber bushings - 03/28/19 02:11 AM

I'm in the middle of taking apart the front suspension and is wondering what everyone has to say: PST says to reuse the LCA inner shell with their pivot shafts, but is the inner shell not already in this bushing? Or is there another shell that goes into this?

I can clearly see it , it is bonded to the rubber .

Yep this is PST's bushing, from what I've heard, usually you would want to press the pivot shaft into the inner shell before it goes into the rubber. I've heard if you press the inner shell into the rubber first, the pivot shaft usually pushes the inner shell out of the rubber. So has anyone had a problem pressing the pivot shaft into PST's bushings?

that's just a regular rubber bushing. you need to get the outer shell out of the control arm and the inner shell off the pivot shaft before you press the new one in.

So i grabbed the pivot shaft, and correct me if im wrong, but there isnt a sleeve on it. So either its somehow stuck in the bushing, or Im right about the PST bushing coming with the inner shell. Right?

is that a factory chrysler pivot shaft? if so, then the bushing is ready to press onto that shaft.
I can't comment on aftermarket pivout shafts as I have not used them..

Yes it is factory, so what you're saying is the sleeve that goes on the pivot shaft is already in the bushing correct?

Correct. When the old bushings get pressed out, generally the Inner bushing shell stays on the pivot shaft and the outer shell usually remains in the control arm.
