Spring Fling Speed Festival XII
It's on again Thursday April 12th 2018 at Big Willow in Rosamond CA!

http://alltimeracing.com/spring-fling-speed-festival-xii-thursday-april-12th-2018/
$275 pre register and $325 afterwards. The website dates are not updated yet but I will confirm with Tim! His PayPal is therren_2000@yahoo.com

I have already signed up! Can't wait!

Sweet!
Currently thrashing on the AMX to get it done by then. When is the pre registration cut off?

Re: Spring Fling Speed Festival XII, Thursday, April 12th, 2018 - 01/03/18 06:36 PM

Hey Brent!

I emailed Tim but he didn't reply yet? I'm going to take an educated guess and say 3 weeks prior to the event. That would make the cutoff Thursday March 22nd 2018.

Based on previous years info, I'm pretty sure Tim would update his website to this:

"Registration:
This all day track event is $325.  Pre-register before 3/22/18 and pay only $275.

No refunds after on time registration date 3/22/18, which is 3 weeks prior to event. Same Day Registration add $50. So that’s $375 same day for you disorganized, uncommiting types. No credits or refunds after 3/22/18."

I may or may not be able to make it dependent on school. I'm on double time now that I'm trying to finish my master's by June. Also, if I run, I'd need to find out how to make oil not come out of my left valve cover oil fill hole on long sweeping right turns.

Re: Spring Fling Speed Festival XII, Thursday, April 12th, 2018 - 01/04/18 08:58 AM

Early registration closes 3/22/18, RylisPro is correct. Typically drivers start signing up by now and this year is no exception.

MUUMUU101 What seems to be the problem with the oil fill hole? Does it have the screw in cap? Those dont typically leak.

Try something like these. One is Mike Ritz's car and I believe the other is from Rick Guisto's car.

Hey Eric!
The Motel 6 I stayed at the first time I was there wasn't that great. Last year and this time around I got a garage like always do when going to a track day. I have a kot and a sleeping bag so I'm all good haha!

I'm still hoping to sell a car by the end of March, then I can drive down to watch, no time to get proper tires for the AMX, or to double check stuff, like main bearings and all, but it'd be fun to watch and maybe ride along with somebody, hint hint. lol

Re: Spring Fling Speed Festival XII, Thursday, April 12th, 2018 - 03/14/18 07:59 PM

Regarding helmets, most clubs require a helmet no older than the Snell date of within the past 10-years. So, current oldest would be Snell 2010... good through 2020 (they only come in 5-year updates... 2015 most recent.. and then good through 2025).

Some clubs may have allowances -- its an "insurance" issue beyond the club's control. Check with every club's requirements before you intend to enter and get on the track.

i cant wait for track day!!! i dont think there is any host hotel. might want to try airbnb or vrbo in the area. thats what i did. if you are planning on coming to track day, plan on coming out wednesday afternoon, as we sit around and bbq, bench race, and check out the cars in a very casual setting. i'll see if i can get tim to post a updated list of entries. even as a spectator it is worth the trip to watch all the vintage iron on track.

SFSF XII event t-shirts!!! There used to be one in your size but the guy right before you just bought it! $30

Willow Spring Raceway, April 12th, Thursday.

All cars welcome. If it will make it to the track then it’s probably good enough.

If you haven’t signed up, then your late.

Honestly, a lot of guys just tow [censored] to the track that they have no idea if it will even make it one lap. We put them in the Jack Stand Group.

Just made it back home safe. I was having clutch issues all day at the track. Not sure why yet? probably due to all the heat generated when driving hard but car drove home fine. I got some video and its up on YouTube

Thanks for posting that - proof I was actually there!
We limped the car home, made it ok. That was a long day! Left San Jose at 5am, got home to Sac at 10pm...800 miles!

I haven't bled my clutch yet. The weird thing is the clutch worked normally driving home? It only acted like that when running hard at the track so I can't really test it again until my May 5th Sonoma event so we'll see.

Hopefully that is the case and a simple fix.
It could be master or slave cylinder going bad also, so we'll see...
