Torsion bar removal tool..where to order for overnight? - 10/07/14 03:46 AM
Anyone happen to know somewhere I can order a T-bar removal tool and have it shipped overnight? Classic Industries is out of stock. Jegs and Summit don't show them so????
Any ideas?

sure i'd like to have a TB removal tool too, but since i don't and never think about it till i need it the very next day, i sure wouldn't overnight it. i just cant believe its *that* useful.
two bolts on the LBJ to knuckle, one on the strut to the LCA, LCA pin, swaybar links if you have one, and beat on the LCA to drive the TB back With urethane LCA bushings, dont even bother with the LCA pin. a scrap 2x or in my case a piece of oak floor, works well to drive the LCA.
or i have absolutely no idea what im missing... depends how often you're only under the car to swap a TBs i guess.

Well I am trying to get a car ready for a local "once a year Mopar only" show. Did not plan on tearing the car down but found a few things that needed to be addressed. So.......
My brother just sent me a message that he made one from a piece of iron and 2 u bolts. So it looks like tomorrow we will test it out!

You don't need no steenking tool! Try this. Back the adjuster all the way off, pry the adjuster lever up, knock it down, repeat a few times. Notice how much travel you get out of the adjuster lever? Go about half of the travel. Back the lower control arm pin nut off like 1/8 to 1/4". Whack the nut end with a mallet. The bar should just slide out. I came up with this in a wrecking yard pulling off some control arms and it has worked well since.

My cheap, maybe $5 tool from a piece of stock and hardware from Depot...

I cobbled up this thing today out of stuff I found lying in my garage: a piece of 2x4, a U-bolt from an exhaust clamp, & a piece of heater hose. Worked like a charm.

One the lower control arm is disconnected. Prybar between the lower control arm and k member will for the arm back, along with the torsion bar.
For bars seized in place. Use soft metal, like a 3/4" stock of aluminum bar. Hit the bar forwards to get it moving.
