Wheels - 06/13/12 02:00 AM
Ok guys, I hope I put this in the right forum. I have done some searching and looking around I even ask on the pro touring mopar site and no one can give a clear answer and I would mesure it but no one around me has the equipment. What I'm looking at doing is puting a 275/45r17 with a 17x8 with a 5.5 backspacing under all four corners on my 1971 wagon it is all stock but lowered 2 inchs. I would like to know if this will fit with out any problem and if I can go biger I would like to know. Thanks for all the help.

What body style wagon is this B or C body?
The only real way you will know what fits is to either buy it and put it on there or get the tool that bolts to the axle or rotor and give it a spin.

Its a b body. And I have seen biger wheels on 71-74 b bodys and some late 60s b bodys but no wagons, so I'm unsure if the wagon has a biger or smaller wheel opening.

On my 72 RR that is lowered 1"in the rear a 255/50R16 all around on 16x8 wheels with 4.5"backspace/ 0 offset.
I believe the four door and wagons in those years have a smaller wheelwell.
You will have to buy or rent that wheel measuring tool if you are looking to stuff the biggest tire/wheel you can in there.
Look at my post with Pics fixed in the title. There are pics of the RR with these new tires. They are 10" wide 26" tall and on a lowered car that 26" tire is tucked into the wheelwell.
Ask the local Mustang guys if you could try someones wheels to see if they fit, lots of them run close to that size and backspace.

unless you find someone else who has tried that exact combo, nobody will have your answer. you're going to have to go measure. sorry!
first question would be, how wide are your wheel wells?
