Recommended Machine Shop Listing?

Recommended Machine Shop Listing? - 11/29/03 05:12 PM
This is the time of year a lot of us start motor projects. I'll be the first to call myself an "amateur" when it comes to engine building. I know enough to be slightly dangerous. Many have asked where a good Mopar machine shop is in their area. Im in that catagory too. I was hoping that the board would start a thread or catagory for recommended machine shops. Obviously some have had good and bad experiences with shops. I think many of us could use a little help in our selection.

They've always treated me right and given me exactly what I asked for. Besides solid basic machine work, these guys are capable of doing some things that are a little out of the ordinary, such as grinding a crank from a raw billet or forging, to grinding you a camshaft on site to making their own valve springs and retainers. Their cams and valvetrain parts are a well-kept secret among many from f.a.s.t. racers. Highly recommended to anyone near the Northern Oakland County, MI area.

He won't quote you horsepower, he won't spec a cam for you, but he's absolutely THE guy when it comes to machining everything and putting it together. He stands by his work (longer warranties than most places offer), and the best part is: he's WAY cheaper than anyone in the area. He's built hundreds of hot street motors that have lasted for years....I recommend Bud's work to everyone I know. Visit
