318 and 360 motor mount, the same?

I was wondering if a 318 and360 have the same mounts? I always thought the driver side mount was different. does the year make a difference 68-79 ?

They are not the same. However you can use the 318 mount which you can actually buy on a 360 with some spacers. I believe its about .250 in. spacer.

I just got a new mount from napa and they list the same # for both 318 and 360. it dosent fit at all. however it does seem to fit on an old 318 i have laying around. so i gotta shim it?

sonds like you are talking about the rubber isolator and he is talking about the bracket bolted to the block.

If you buy a 360 one you get a 318 one now.

Yeah to use a 318 mount on a 360 you've gotta shim it at the back hole. I've done this on Truck brackets without issues. I just threw an old nut in there to take up the space.

A-body 1968-1972 340-360 uses 1 drivers side steel bracket. here is a pic(Will also fit 1967 A-body V8 k-frame)

1967-1972 A-body 273-318 uses this mount on the drivers side and it wont bolt to the 340-360 block as you can see the ear is missing on the mount where the ear is on the 340-360 block.

now on a 66-72 B-body/70-74 E-body they have 1 drivers side 273-318 mount that can be used on a 340-360 block. the bracket ID is wider than the blocks ear OD so there is a small (.250)gap that can be filled with washers,and or a spacer. here is the 273-318 B/E drivers side.

340-360 B/E body is shown here on right hand side.note how it is narrower at the top between the tips as it matchs the narrower spread width of the 340-360 block ears.
