New England MOPARTS Cruise - Saturday, June 25th, 2005 - 03/31/05 01:51 PM

Hi everyone,

This summer's New England Moparts Cruise will be held on Saturday, June 25th 2005.

Please reserve the date!

The route and "timed intervals" for this cruise will be the SAME as last Summer:
Hampton Beach, NH @ 8:00AM
Nashua, NH.
Jaffrey, NH for LUNCH.
Northampton, MA.
Charlemont, MA.
Hemmings Motor New Museum at Bennington, VT and DINNER.

I am working on details for another New England cruise:
Essex, CT - zigzagging northwest to a BBQ in Berne, NY.
I am interested in feedback on the following:
- Would any of you LIKE a second cruise?
- What are good dates for a second cruise that wouldn't conflict with other shows?

More details will be posted as the Cruise date approaches.

THANKS MOPARTS & EVERYONE!
- Art

You're right, I guess it depends on if you burn through the paint when you finish the wetsand and buffing - hopefully this weekend I can drop it off?

Let there be no pressure - this is about having fun. We won't care if you arrive in your mom's '68 Mustang like last year (you know who you are... BRIAN! ).

Already have June 25th circled on the calender.
Art, if you have any friends coming from NY and need a place to stay let me know, I have a spare room and an empty spot in my garage too. I'm 40 minutes from Hampton Beach.

I'd love to go but just live to far away. I'm about 4-4 1/2 hours from Portsmouth.
Come to think of it I live to far from anything except some of the best snowmobiling in the country. You guys have fun. Crazy73 you have mail.

Count me in. I'd like to try and make it from the beginning this time. And if you need help with a second cruise Art, I'd be happy to help plan it.

I'm doing an engine compartment repaint and engine swap on the convertible when the weather is warm (so I can paint) so I will likely be in the '68 Newport Custom 4 door HT.

Thanks for the responses guys

Evan - Thanks for the good psyche. Bring your whole town. Mopars are preferred, but not required. And it's not limited to Moparts members.

Brian - Thanks for the offer buddy, I'll let ya know!

Dave - you will be welcomed in any car you want. We had a few "non-classics" last year and it was fine.

Rich - I just talked to Pete Marshall with the survivor B5 A12 in my area. He said he won't make the reunion at Carlisle, but let us know when you guys pass through town. Nice to see the pix again, here's another classic from last year:

Rob - thanks for the good psyche. I'll keep in touch. Just saw the pics of your cars on the other thread. Nice vert!

Cheers, -Art

Make a right turn (north) onto Main Street – and keep going north to Concord Street and Greeley Park. Turn left into the woods at Greeley Park: We plan on parking under the pines off the park road on the left. (57 miles).

10:30am - Nashua, NH: Meet at Greeley Park. From downtown, take Main Street north. It turns into Concord Street (also marked as local Route 3). The park is about a mile north of Nashua center and is on both sides of the street. We plan on parking in the wooded area along the access road going left off Concord Street.

DEPART Charlemont about 5:30pm
ROUTE to Bennington, VT: Continue west on Route 2 towards North Adams, MA. BEFORE getting into No.Adams proper, turn RIGHT on Route 100 north towards VT. Drive through Stanford, Heartwellville, and turn LEFT on VT route 9 west towards Bennington. Meet at the Hemmings gas station on your RIGHT on Main Street in downtown Bennington. (49 miles from Charlemont)

7:00pm - Dinner at Bennington, VT. Meet at Hemmings Motor News Gas Station. This is right on Main Street (VT route 9) in downtown Bennington. Parking is available until 9:00pm. Hemmings provides a staff person to give a tour of their museum facility. Afterwards, we can get a sit-down dinner at The Old Railroad Station nearby, or a local burger joint. There is also a nice self-guided driving tour of local covered bridges to end the evening.

I look forward to seeing all you guys & gals again.
Thanks Moparts Mods!
- Art

P.S. - I'd appreciate a PM if anyone knows of current road-construction that would warrant an alternate route. Any construction in the Northampton, MA area?

Hi ViperD, hope you can make it. I still keep my eyes open for a set of tail lights for your '67 Dart GT. Have you had any luck?

Re: New England MOPARTS Cruise - Saturday, June 25th, 2 - 06/14/05 12:57 AM

There is some road construction near the bridge in Hadley, but no blocked lanes so we should be OK. However, I think we might be better off heading up Mass. Route 47 at Hadley to Sunderland, then over Route 116 to South Deerfield to grab I-91. It's a much nicer ride, 45-50 MPH.

And if anyone wants to stop for a 5-10 minute tour of the Massachusetts C Body storage facility (my garage next to Rte. 9 in Hadley) just say so and we will get there for a few.

Nupe if you can't hook up with any of your Maine buddies be at my house by 7 AM at the latest, you can ride shotgun with me.

Thanks for the offer, but I don't think I have ever been up that early unless I was just getting home at that time.

I think I'll try and meet up at one of the stops. Maybe Hampton.

Yep.... HHH.... hazy, hot & humid; mid to upper 90's forecast. Those w/o AC may melt! At least no rain is in the forecast.... yet... after all, this is New England we're talking about!

Is the route under trees at all? or are we looking to bake the whole route?

Yes , planning to bring the challenger conv and start from the begining.

Tom, you're coming? Wow!

Although the route is fairly rural, there is no tree canopy. Prepare for sunshine (which isn't a bad thing. ) This trip's gonna be fun!

Just saw on the news that there is some big sand sculpting contest at Hampton Beach from 8 to 4 on Saturday. Might want to get there as early as possible to get a parking spot.

Any word on a CT area cruise?

Thanks for your interest!
Yes, a tentative route is something like Essex CT to Kent CT, west into Hudson NY, then up to Saratoga Springs NY. Don't have a firm date, looking at mid-Sept. How's that work for ya?
- Art

Art, it will work great as long as it isn't the weekend of Sept 17th ... I will be in San Louis Obispo / Cali on business

But don't stop the cruise 'cause of me!
