Every post I made - he was positive and enthusiastic in his response.
I enjoyed every comment or image he posted and would reciprocate gratitude.
I took this image this evening of a beautiful Kansas Sunset.
Also included is one of Stu’s last Facebook posts.

Incredibly well said Jim. He was one of those people you were fortunate to cross paths with. It didn't matter how long or how well he knew you. He was equally gracious to all. I was only in his neck of the woods one time (out in SF from Wisconsin) and he took time out of his day to pick me up at the BART station to take me cruising in the road runner. His wife was clearly used to the frequent car buff company that he was surrounded by as she made us a great thanksgiving dinner and shared time and stories in the Stu man cave.
RIP Stu!

Stu was one of the first people to welcome me to this site when I joined back in 1997. Like everyone else, I'm gonna miss his sense of humor, and how welcoming he was to anyone who wanted to stop by to see him when they visited his area. Stu helped me more than once with my garage door, and he is one of a few here who's number is in my phone. R.I.P. Stu, and thanks for being a friend.

Re: Stu passed away today - 11/18/19 02:30 PM
the first thing that caught my eye when i tuned in this morning was the headline Stu had passed.
even though we all knew the end was coming, it was still a shock.
before i read through the comments, i said a few prayers and wiped away tears.
i really don't quite know what to say. thoughts and prayers to the family seem so empty when Stu was such a great, kind and giving man.
however, what else can one say at a time like this ?
he was like a brother to everyone he came in contact with, and he helped me several times with garage door problems over the years, the latest time was two years ago when he helped me pick replacement doors and openers.
last year, Stu was my "secret santa". he joked that he was going to "re-gift" to his victim, and i ripped back and forth with him on that. i don't know if it was an "arranged" pick, but as son as the package arrived, the address gave it away. the gift was a really neat pen & ink drawing of the "bullitt" cars with charlie brown driving the charger, and snoopy driving the mustang. this will be a very cherished possession for a very long time. it will remind me of Stu every day, and of that, i am greatly, greatly thankful.
Rest In Peace, Ride In Peace, and Repair [garage doors] In Peace my friend i never got to meet in person.
thoughts, condolences, and prayers to your wife and family in this time of grief.
i'm very, very sorry for your loss.

RIP Stu, this is a giant loss to the Moparts community!
Rest in Peace Garage door man! I never met him but had him on facebook and his club page. Enjoyed his posts both here and there. I never will forget posting asking a garage door question and him giving me his number to call and worked me through it and then me posting on here about San Francisco information, He replied and told me to stop by and have a beer. Never got by but I can only imagine what it was like for his wife. Each day had to be an adventure not knowing who he might invite over. Definitely a very welcoming heart. Prayers to his family for healing and comfort both these first few days as well as weeks and months and years to come.

Re: Stu passed away today - 11/18/19 03:53 PM
Some of my fondest memories of Stu seem soo much more precious now. Going to his clubhouse and having hippy vodka. Insisting 'hugs' were appropriate at car meets. Facebook posting with insane content. over 25 years of him doing some fun stuff with his cars. We all can go on and on about how wonderful Stu is and how much he has enriched people lives just by being himself. His family must be beyond devastated for loosing someone soo loving and caring as him. My most heart felt condolences go to his family. I leave many a pray for him as he was more than one person. A husband, father, a fun guy, a car enthusiast, a fighter til the end. I feel like I should run my garage door at 'half mast' in memory of a man we all enjoyed calling a friend. Thank you Stu for many years of enjoyable conversations and contributions to our hobby. We will miss you and may the Lord share his light of passion apon you in heaven.

Rest in Peace, Stu. You'll be missed and remembered always.
When walking up to a golf green, prevailing etiquette asks you to repair your ball mark and one other left unrepaired by someone else.
Stu was that way with life - he did his share and then did a few more people's share while he was at it - always without complaint nor in search of praise.
May we all learn from his example.

Sure hope Sally and his entire family are comforted knowing how much his 'Moparts' family misses him too.
Most of us know that Stu couldn't do what he did without Sally's support and encouragement - We all appreciate that!

Re: Stu passed away today - 11/19/19 05:02 PM
Can anyone confirm the year Stu was born? Was it 1960? Just want to know so I can put it into a little graphic I'm working on to honor his memory.
August 18, 1959... One week older than me.
I believe you are incorrect. He was nearly a year younger than me even though we graduated from high school the same year. I'm Oct. 31, 1959. It should be 1960.
I stand corrected... Sincere apologies

RIP Stu.... he sent me some garage door "eyes" no charge, not even shipping... Wouldn't take any money. I told him I would get him a beer next time I was in San Fran., I guess I didn't make it out there in time... so here is one for you, Stu....

Rest in peace Stu. Never met the man, but from the amount of posts here, he was a well respected man, friend and loved all things Mopar.

Re: Stu passed away today - 11/20/19 08:38 PM
I casually mentioned on Moparts one time many years ago-maybe 2004 or 05-that I wanted a Union 76 ball for my antenna but I couldn't get one locally. Without hesitation, he asked for my address and sent me a few the next day, no payment accepted. I still have the ball on my Charger so Stu will always be along for the ride.
I never met him but I miss him. It still hasn't set in that he's gone.

I talked to Stu last summer at the car show in Santa Clara and he told me about his fight and it was kicking his ass but he seemed to be in good spirits at the time and thought he was passed it. I got to go to his club house a few years ago and that guy was just an asset to the whole car Community. He always had his tent out with snacks he bought with his own money and always had a joke or two he was a great guy to know in person and I will never forget him. Rest in peace brother

RIP Stu, never met you in person but from your online personality I would say you have to be one of the most good natured helpful people I have ever seen always offering help and advice to those in need, and always trying your best to make others happy.

Truly a guy everyone liked or loved. He sent me some garage door locks, totally free, wanted no money or shipping or anything, just to help me out.
I facebook friended him a few years back and he posted some of the funniest jokes/pictures on his page. I am sure his family knows how many peoples lives were brightened by Stu. Rest in peace sir.

Re: Stu passed away today - 11/24/19 05:03 PM
Rocky....same thing here. Stu refused to let me send him some money for his time helping me with my garage door. I asked him for his address so I could send a thank you card, and he figured out right quick what I was gonna do....and said he didn't have one, and then laughed! I did manage to get him to tell me his t shirt size, and then get his address from another member here who had been to Stu's clubhouse several times. I sent Stu a Myrtle Beach T shirt with a Thank you note for helping me, and you would have thought I sent him a million bucks by his reaction....lol. I'm not looking forward to the next time my garage door messes up, because all I will be able to do is stand there and look at it and think, WWSD? (What would Stu do).

Re: Stu passed away today - 11/25/19 06:08 PM
He always seemed like a nice fellow, I remember his last posts about getting his affairs in order,
at least he could do that and prepare as much as possible for something totally impossible to actually prepare for.
Be cool. We're all headed to the same place, anyway.
RIP Stu

Not sure if this Stu Harmon Memorial Cruise Night info for December 14th 7:00 PM was posted?
Here is what I saw on the Mid Pen thread on FB.
This was cancelled by the Mods about a week after the announcement.
No permission from family, S.M.P.D, or the vendors in the meeting area.
For further confirmation regarding this, reach out to the Mod(s) on Mid Pen Mopar on Facebook.

Re: Stu passed away today - 11/27/19 01:52 AM
From Kim the moderator:
I feel I must at this time express my concern regarding the December 14th “cruise event” being put on by the San Mateo Cruiser Admin.
The event was first put out on November 3rd as strictly a toy run, then Stu’s name was added and then deleted on another “reminder” post.
Permission was not gotten by the San Mateo police dept, nor have they been advised this is going to happen. Places set for meeting times have not been informed either as far as I am hearing.
I would absolutely hate for something bad to happen on this night and have Stu’s name attached to it.
I won’t be participating due to the fact that the event has not been sanctioned by the authorities, business owners or his family.
I am extremely uncomfortable in the manner in which all these circumstances have come together.

Kinda late on the reply, but devastating news for the group. I never met nor conversed with him, but from what I'm reading, I wish I had. He set an example for us all, let's try to imitate him to keep his memory alive.
Eternal rest my MoPar friend. Condolences and peace to his survivors.

Condolences and good wishes for all the Harmon clan. I've been off the internet for awhile. Can't believe this. Talked with Stu a lot, about various things, but never had opportunity to chat face to face. Regret that. There is now a hell of a hole on MOPARTS. A bigger hole in humanity. RIP, old friend...
