'68 GTX Project

'68 GTX Project - 02/10/10 07:09 PM

Here is my latest project, a '68 Hemi GTX. It was last driven in '84. I don't know exactly what my plans are for this car but my goal is to put an engine in it within the next month or so and drive the wheels off of it this summer. Next winter I will probably tear it down and at least paint it and put an interior in it. If anyone has any tips or suggestions, please feel free to post them.

Anyways, I will try and take some photos as I go along to document the progress. Enjoy.

Thanks for the comments! Yes, its a four speed car. It currently has 3.54's in the Dana but I have a couple of sets 4.10's in the garage and I will probably thow a set in there for now.

Here is the engine that I will be putting in it. I was running this in my '68 Charger but I pulled it out when I sold the car. I've got a set of black wrinkle valve covers and the original intake set-up which I will put on there today to make it look a little more "stock".

Re: '68 GTX Project - 02/12/10 01:32 AM

I hear ya! I'm all about the tunnel ram but I've been running one for a couple of years now. I guess it's time for something different. I've got other plans for that tunnel ram anyways.
After running a tunnel ram, I just smile when I hear people say things like "You can't run that on the street." or "It's really hard to tune that.", etc. I love them!

The door hinges on the driver's side were shot so I attempted to rebuild them today. It ended up being a major project! I'm still not finished. The top hinge pin is literally rusted solid into the hinge. I've tried heat AND a press. It will not come out. I am going to attempt to weld up a jig to hold the hinge and use my drill press to drill out the pin. We'll see...

I finally got my hinges done. Insane. It took me almost two full days to rebuild the hinges and get the door and front fender aligned correctly. Anyways, it's done.

I pulled the tunnel ram off of the engine today and am getting it ready for the stock intake.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 02/18/10 11:51 AM

Progress has been a little slower that what I would like. I'm hoping to make some leaps and bounds this weekend.

The 400 in my daily driver truck decided that it was getting pretty tired so it was time to buld an engine for it. It had 14 psi in one cylinder and 19 psi in another. My best cylinder was 60 psi! Anyways, I picked up a 54,000 mile 440 but unfortunately after it was pulled from the donor vehicle, it sat outside and water ran down through the carb into a couple of the cylinders. I pulled it apart and took it over to the machine shop yesterday for a cleaning and honing.

As far as the Hemi, I dialed in the bellhousing yesterday and have been sorting through all of my hardware and brackets getting things ready.

Hey Stan, You gonna have it road ready for Hooters in Williamsburg this year?.....Oh yea, I do have a flat Satellite hood.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 02/19/10 01:41 AM

FuryUs, believe it or not, I think that if I took the spare tire out of the trunk of the Swinger, I may have actually been able to close the trunk fully with that block in there.

Bobby, my folks are coming to visit on the 8th of March for a week. My goal is to be burning rubber that week. I know, that's crazy... So, I should be ready for the Hooter's get-together. We'll talk about that hood...

I was able to make some progress today. I adjusted the valves, put on the black wrinkle valve covers and intake, and painted the engine. I will go through the carbs in the next few days and get those on. I need to bend op a couple of fuel lines though.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 02/19/10 01:47 AM

I did find something interesting with the LF frame rail. It looked like someone possibly had put large tires on the front that rubbed through the frame at full turn. Upon closer inspection, I found that the frmae rail had been punched in sometime early in its life and someone had brazed a piece of sheetmetal over the dent and covered it with undercoating. Possibly to fool a State Motor Vehicle Inspection Station?

Either way, when I ground that brazing off and pulled back the sheet metal "cover", it was full of dirt that held in the moisture for years. I'll see how it cleans up.

That was the perfect car for you given you have the engine already. You did pretty good on that deal. That car is going to raise some eye browes at the local cruise spots this year. You don't see original '68 Hemi 4 spd cars very often even at the bigger shows.

Looking forward to more updates.

I think I did OK. I should be rowing gears in a Hemi 4-gear car this summer, which is something that I never thought would be possible.

I've got very little progress to report. I did get a chance to polish up the air cleaner lid... but that's about it. I'm working on getting the MSD hidden and getting the wires routed.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 02/26/10 10:16 AM

I finally made some more progress. Yesterday I pressure washed the engine bay and removed the majority of the grime. I also adjusted the steering box. The LH torsion bar was only in the front lower control arm socket about 1/4"! I pulled out that torsion bar, cleaned the socket up, and slid it all the way back in. I had a couple of friends stop by yesterday and we dropped the engine in. Now its time to start plumbing everything up.

Hardy, the original color is QQ1. It has had one re-paint back in the 70's. It also had the white sport stripes originally.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 02/28/10 03:07 AM

I've been wrestling with a set of headers for the past few days. I have a set of "JR" headers with the car that I would like to use. They are very old but the are a one piece header which I like.

I've got two sets of Hooker headers here but they are all "slip fit" tubes. The passenger side "JR" fit perfectly but the driver's side will not fit the regular Mopar BB bellhousing/starter combination that I am using.
I have tried several starters, including a "mini starter" but they will not work.

I'll sleep on it for a few days and figure out what I am going to do. I have another block and set of heads that I think I will mock up and see what modifications I need to make them fit.

Stan

Attached picture 5834657-JRHeader.JPG
Posted By: HemiStan

Re: '68 GTX Project - 03/01/10 02:10 AM

After half-heartedly attempting to bend the headers to fit around the starter, I decided to try and do it correctly. One piece of 90 degree bend, 2 inch conduit from Lowes and several hours later I am done. The headers now clear nicely around a regular full-size starter and still fit in the car. Are they "perfect"?. No, but they will be fine.

I do know one thing though. I will not be getting into the custom header business anytime soon.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 03/07/10 01:08 PM

Well, I have been putting in some long hours on this car but I don't have much "picture wise" to show. The LH header is complete and on the car. I made it large enough to fit around a regular starter but a "mini starter" fits great. Lot's of room all around it.
Magnumminded-if I were to run a regular starter with it, I think that I would need to fabricate a heat shield, but not with the mini. As a matter of fact, I am able to remove and install the starter with the header bolted to the engine in the car. Sweet. I think I have my "new" favorite set of headers.

Transmission, shifter, driveshaft, and safety loop are in. Radiator and hoses are installed. I went through the AFBs and installed new Viton seals and set the floats. Exhaust has been installed.
I had some help come over on Friday and Saturday and we got a bunch of stuff done. New gas tank, sending unit, and new fuel lines are all plumbed. New shocks all the way around. New pinion seal has been installed. We disassembled the master cylinder and front Bendix calipers, cleaned and honed everything up and re-assembled them. I really need to find some replacement seals for them but I seem to be coming up empty handed.

Anyways, I need to hook up some gauges and the MSD, fill up the radiator, bleed the brakes, do a quick front end alignment, and get some 93 octane in the new tank. It's getting close.

Cmarino-I am honing my hood cutting skills for your Jaguar. That car would look very cool with a tunnel ram...

AKCharger-As a matter of fact, I just removed the last remnants of air shock hoses from the car. I am going to leave the traction bars on for the summer. Mainly so people can tell me that Mopars don't need them and that I should take them off. I am leaving the air shocks on the Swinger though. You never know whn you may need to haul a 440 block in the trunk. As far as the neon lights, weren't you saying something about installing sequential neon tail lights on your Charger?

Re: '68 GTX Project - 03/14/10 02:03 PM

Well folks, she is officially burning rubber! Just as I was pulling it out yesterday for its shake-down run, Dan showed up with his new ride so I needed to snap a couple of photos.

I didn't know if I was going to like the 3.54's but they seem fine. I thought I would be "addicted" to the 4.88's I was running in my Charger but I really don't miss them. That car pulls VERY hard with the 3.54's. Dan and I took it for a little spin and it get squirrely easily.

As you can see, I quickly shined up the old paint and put on some stripes with a can of white Rustoleum for the summer. It actually looks pretty presentable!

But.... I have been have major problems with the front Bendix calipers. I ended up ordering a set of rebuilt calipers (with a $600 core charge for a total of $1,087!) and one of the rebuilt calipers has a small crack in the casting where the fluid tranfers from one side of the caliper to the other. I put one of the old calipers back on and it is working for now but I don't trust it. I will call the place I ordered them from on Monday and hopefully we car get everything straightened out.

Anyways, I have some work to do and I will not get back out in the garage for a few days. I need a break anyhow.

Crowbait- I think the brakes you are thinking of are the Kelsey Hayes 4 piston brakes. I have a set of those on my 340 Swinger.

Dmoore- I was on the Bear and will be reporting to the Legare this summer. I know a few Coasties from the Eastern Shore. Two of them are retired now.

I'll get some better pictures of the car next weekend.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 03/19/10 11:18 AM

A little more progress. I've been tweaking the AFB's and they are really starting to get dialed in. I am literally amazed at how hard this car pulls with the 3.54's in the Dana. I get a little nervous as the RPM's start to swing past 3,000. That's when the Hemi really starts to breath and it likes to break the tires loose right about then, regardless of MPH. Awesome!

I'm starting to get everything cleaned up really well. I pulled all of the carpet and seats out yesterday to see what I was up against. After I removed the rocks, cocoons, mummified mouse corpse, etc., it looks pretty good. There is a little bit of rust under the clutch and brake pedals but that is about it. As you can see, someone had hacked up the shifter tunnel and they literally "glued" a piece of another tunnel over the top of the original with some sort of heavy duty roofing adhesive.
I trimmed up the original tunnel and cut a piece out of the donor tunnel to patch it up. A few minutes with my Craftsman MIG and we are back to banging gears.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. I'll get more photos posted as I continue to get things cleaned up.

Phill, Thanks again for hauling the ol' girl to Virginia. That was a crazy trip. I don't think I have ever been as excited as the day you delivered it. Hopefully I will catch up with you at Carlisle.

69Cuda340S, it is most definitely going to be a fun summer!

ornocar - Glad you like the car. You would have really liked the Charger if you had the chance to see it in person. It was a beast. All of my cars are four speeds and I had a '70 Pistol Grip shifter in that. It was literally all I could do to just point it straight and hang on as I rowed it through the gears.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 05/10/10 09:42 PM

Dave! Good to hear from you! I hope that I am doing your old ride justice. I have been super busy with work. I just graduated from Old Dominion University on Saturday and now I am back to a semi-normal pace. The last month and a half have been brutal.

Anyways, I took the car out today and snapped a few updated pictures. I have almost 600 miles on it so far and the rear tires are already showing some wear! I may have to take it easy if I want those tires to last through-out the summer! My Dad and I buffed the paint out a little back in March and it is a decent 30-footer. It gets mixed reactions at the cruise nights. Most people don't realize what it is but there seems to be about one person per cruise night who knows what it is. They love it but most people don't really give it a second look.

My plan is to have it at Carlise this summer. I haven't done too much to it since I last posted due to my busy schedule. Honestly, I have been driving it more that working on it. I cleaned up the carpet and the interior and have gone through the electrical system and now I have all but one side marker light working. The transmission is leaking some fluid out of the back-up light swith so that is my next task to complete.

Anyways, here is a nice picture of the "good" side of the car. The shadows hide most of the paint chips so it looks pretty good.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 08/06/10 12:55 AM

Hello everyone! I have been a little slack with my progress pictures. I took the car off the road a couple of months ago because the front suspension and steering was very worn out. It really wasn't safe to drive anymore. I ended up pulling the motor and tranny out and put it in my '67 GTX (440 car) and have been cruising around in that while I decided how I was going to tackle '68.

I should start a thread on the '67 GTX. This is the first summer it has been on the road since 1975!

Re: '68 GTX Project - 08/06/10 01:02 AM

Today I finally decided today that I needed to get back to work on the '68. I knew this would end up being a major project so I needed to prepare myself mentally. I don't want this car to be torn apart for years while I put it back together so I need to stay motivated.

I decided that I really didn't like driving it around with scratches and dents, so its all coming apart. I won't call this a "restoration" in the truest sense. It's still going to be a "driver", just a very nice one. More along the lines of what I have done with my '70 Swinger.

This car had been hit pretty hard in the front end early in its life. The next few pictures will show you some of the damage that it sustained. Nothing that a few days with my MIG welder and 4 1/2" grinder can't handle.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 09/20/10 01:05 AM

A little bit more progress. I haven't posted in a while but I am still hard at work. I have been attempting to clean out my garage and clean things up a bit. I don't have enough room!

Anyways, I have spent the past few weeks stripping the enging bay and prepping it for primer. It is a LOT of work. As I had mentioned earlier, this car had been hit hard in the front end early in its life and I had to do a bunch of work in the engine bay area to get it back together. It looks pretty good but I have some more work to do.

My work schedule has been pretty tight lately so just bare with me. I have a lofty goal of having this car painted and put back together by Carlisle of 2011. I "think" I can do it.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 11/16/10 01:22 AM

I just got back from sea a few days ago. It was a crazy patrol but fortunately it is over. Over the past couple of days, I have done a bunch of work to the car. After looking at the overall condition of both quarter panels, I decided to replace them both. They both had some pretty severe rust in the lower sections and window corners, in addition to the approximatley two gallons of filler used to smooth out some earlier dents. I ordered two new quarters from AMD and they are nice.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 11/16/10 01:24 AM

Window corner rust. In addition to this, the LH quarter had been trimmed so much that the quarter had actually seperated from the inner housing.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 11/16/10 01:28 AM

I cut off the RH quarter and had to fabricate a couple of small patch panels on the outer wheel housing. Overall, everything looked pretty good. The tail light section had been pretty beat up but I was able to hammer it back into condition. I've got the new quarter hung but it will take another day to get everything all welded up. It's looking pretty good so far.

GREAT CAR!! I love the 68 cars .Be sure to check with the AMD qtrs the area where the qtr meets the dutchman panel and be sure you make the qtr panel the same shape as your rear window chrome molding befor you finish your bodywork. test fit the chrome molding for sure.Your pics are giving me Dejavu for sure...

Re: '68 GTX Project - 11/21/10 12:54 PM

I finally finished getting the RH quarter hung and all welded up. I am very pleased with the way it turned out.

BEEQUIK, you were absolutley correct. I probably spent the majority of my time adjusting the quarter to ensure that the dutchman panel would line up correctly. It turned out good, though.

I've got the LH quarter removed and I should be test fitting the quarter tomorrow.

I've actually got a bunch more accomplished but very few pictures to show for it. I did get the LH quarter removed and the new quarter on. I just have to finish welding up a few spots along the bottom rocker portion of it.

I picked up another gallon of primer yesterday. I would like to get this car stripped down next week and get some primer on it.

Dave: Hopefully you will get a chance to see the car this summer. I think it is going to be beautiful.

What did you use on the seam that joins to the roof skin? Did you use lead, metal filler or regular filler?

Superfreak: I actually haven't put anything on the seams yet. There seems to be a lot of debate over what is "best" for those seams. I doubt that I will be using lead though.

69Cuda340S: Thanks for the comments. The car is really starting to look nice now.

It was a big push to get the car to this stage. I am going to start on the fenders, doors, and hood this week. They will require very little metal work. Just stripping the paint and getting some primer on them.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 12/28/10 05:12 PM

A little more progress. I have actually got the doors and fenders ready for primer but as those of you on the East Coast already know, we had ourselves a bit of a snow storm. My garage is too small and when I prime these pieces, I need to push the GTX outside while I do it. I'm not going to push it out in the snow right now because I would have a heck of a time pushing it back into the garage.

So, I have taken some time to take the front suspension apart. If you remember from some of my earlier posts, the K-member had some really hacked up bolt holes. I cut out a 3/8" brass plate and used it as a backing while I welded the holes back up. I did all four yesterday afternoon. They turned out great.

I have literally spent almost the entire month of January priming and block sanding this car. I am completely worn out. There is a lot of sheet metal on a '68 GTX!

Anyways, the car is ready for paint. Unfortunately, the weather is not nearly nice enough here to spray paint. I will have to wait until Spring gets here. Once the weather warms up, I will block the car one last time with 500 grit and take it all apart and start applying the color. In the meantime, I've got to get back to my regular job.

Just throw all the parts inside and I will look after the rest. I really appreciate you donating your time.......and the car to my cause.

Well, it has been a very crazy last couple of months. I have been wrenching on this car every day trying to get it ready for Carlisle. The car is not finished yet but I will be driving it the 5 hours up there on Thursday morning. I got it running Saturday afternoon and have ran nearly three tanks of gas through it. The console is not in it yet, the stripes are not on it yet, etc. But... it will be at Carlisle! I've got the trunk loaded with spare parts and tools and hopefully things go smoothly. I also have a pocket full of money for gas!

If you see me up there, stop by and say "Hello!"

The trip up and back from Carlisle went great. I'm glad that my windshield wipers worked because it rained ALOT!

I've got a bunch of small things left to do on the car which I am going to tackle over the winter. Stripes, lower body molding, factory tachometer, console, etc. I am pretty much out of money right now so I will just have to work with what I have until my funds recuperate.

I did just adjust the valves and change the oil and plugs. It is running ridiculously well!! I actually had to bring it home last night and put it in the garage becasue if I stayed out any longer, I was bound to get in trouble.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 06/25/12 02:55 AM

Well folks, it has been a while since I posted on here. It has been very crazy for the past 9 months. I have been to sea for most of it and it has really drained me. Fortunatly, I have just been assigned to a shore assignement for 4 years. And a promotion, to boot!! I am looking forward to it.

So, here are the updates: I thrashed on the car hard last year to get it to Carlisle which worked out great. It ran strong but I knew that I had a bunch of little things left to finish on it. Over the winter I put the stripes and the lower body moldings on. It really sets the car off now. I also finished putting the console in.

I had been driving the car HARD when my ship was inport. Super hard. It was basically my daily driver. A couple of weeks prior to me getting underway for my last patrol, I noticed that my temperature gauge was running a little warm, so I pulled into a parking lot to check it out. When I opened the hood, I noticed that my fuel pump was spraying fuel all over my header and atlernator. NOT GOOD.

I grabbed my truck and trailer and took it back to my garage. Since I have owned that car, it was the first time that it had been on a trailer. Anyways, I went out to sea and when I returned I put an electric pump on it and a new thermostat in it. Since then, I have been beating it senselessly. I can't help it.... That Hemi pulls so strong and I just loving shifting that four speed!

So, here is the plan: I purchased a set of M/T's, a line lock, and a helmet. It is time to go racing!! Hopefully I can hit the track by the end of the summer.

Sheldon, I wish you were closer. I have been dusting off ALL the folks that try to take me. Its almost funny because they usually get several car lengths on me when we take off but once I get the Hemi traction in second gear it is all over for them. It literally rolls by them like they are standing still. There may be engines and cars that are better than the Hemi, but not to me. The Hemi is IT for me.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 08/26/12 02:37 AM

Time for an update. First of all, I just want to say thanks for all of the comments. You guys have no idea the fun I am having with this car. Everyone should have a Hemi as their daily driver.

So, my plan was to take this car to the track but I have been having to do a bunch of little things to it. I drive this car to work nearly every day and I have to keep up with all of the maintenance on it.

I did get the M/T's on it and what a differance it made. Wow! I can actually hook now. The rear suspension is basically stock with an extra leaf that I have two clamps on each side. It seems to work great.

A few weeks ago I was playing around with my buddy's supercharged 2011 Mustang. His car is pretty bad. It's dyno'd at over 500 hp to the wheels. The first time I took him but the second time he got by about half a fender and I could not get by him. That was the first time anyone has beaten me. But.... I thought the Hemi was a little sluggish. More on that later.

The next day we drove to see 68jim and his '68 Hemi Road Runner. Of course it rained hard and the Hemi was not running that well. So, instead of going home, we decided to drive down to NC. On the way back we stopped and the car would not start. The battery was completely dead. I fixed that situation and the car instantly felt better. I have no idea how long I was just running on the battery. So, I ran the car hard all the way home to "clean the plugs". Nice.

The throttle also stuck once which made me check it once I got home. As you can see, it was only held together by 5 of the strands of the cable. And it was not allowing me to open the carbs all the way! I put a new one on and now it feels like the Hemi should! It's time to have a rematch with that Mustang......

So, I took a full Saturday and did all sorts of work to the car becasue I had been beating it so hard. Sunday I took it out and I could hear some rattling in the trunk area. I took it home and I found that the rear shock crossmember had broken the welds loose. I think a combination of the M/T's and poor factory welds were to blame. A few minutes with the MIG and we were back in business.

I was also using a little bit of oil. Sure enough, all of my intake bolts were loose. I changed the gaskets a few months ago and they had loosened up. I should know better! I have been through this before with a Hemi. I tightened them up and I am now good to go.

Since then, I have been just burning through hundreds of gallons of gas. I had it out tonight cruising around and it is AWESOME!

There will be more to come.

I have followed this post for quite a while. I have really enjoyed reading about your experiences with your GTX. That car is really neat and I'm so glad to see someone really enjoying their hemi car the way the designers and engineers envisioned these cars being used. They were never designed to static objects of art. They were built to show Chrysler's engineering dominance.
You have soul-mate out west. I love beating on my 68 Hemi Charger. It is an original hemi 4-speed car that ,like yours, was purchased as a rolling body only.
Keep on stompin' that elephant buddy!!!

2JcodeChargers, I like your '68! Did you have it advertised for sale a few months ago? I think that was the car that I saw. Would you be interested in trading cars?

Ya but would you really want to get rid of the GTX?

Re: '68 GTX Project - 09/06/12 12:14 AM

A friend and I took the GTX on a nice 8 hour round trip on Sunday. It rained nearly the entire way. Oh well. The Hemi ran great and I have no idea what I got for gas mileage. I really didn't care.

Stan, I love this post and commend you for building and actually driving a real Hemi car. Sad that some folks will be at the old age home before they realize they had a cool car and failed to really enjoy it.

Nice job...

I'm sure Tom Hoover would get a kick out of this adventure...

Thanks for the comments everyone! As you all know, I love driving this car! I had to attend two weeks of training up at the Coast Guard Academy in beautiful New London, CT so I decided to take the Hemi on a road trip. I pointed the car north and kept putting gas in it. 9 1/2 hours later and I made it! Here it is parked in front of the Academy.

Here we are going across the George Washington Bridge heading into NYC. You know you have a cool car when you get a "thumbs up" from a fellow in a 2012 Ferrari 599 GTO on I-95 outside of DC.

Looks AWESOME! What brand of paint did you use? Is it base/clear or single stage? That's the color I want to paint my convertible.

Thanks!

You are going the wrong direction, I thought you were going drop it off at my place.
Very nice looking ride and very cool that you are using it.

The weather up here in New England is GREAT! I went to a very cool cruise night in Pomfret, CT tonight. Lots of very cool cars.

The paint is PPG and the color code is QQ1. Base/clear. I like it alot.

Superfreak, give me some time and I might just make it out there!

One of my favorite cars on here. If you lived closer we could both take out our original Hemi cars and street race them. Not many of us hard core Hemi driver type guys left.

Sheldon

then you would do well around here! herb, (scatpk) and i drive our cars a LOT! and they get driven like hemi cars should! neither of ours are original cars, but they both turn heads, (especially herb's), and get a lot of miles on them!

Small world... so you're the Bart Mans neighbor (he'd be the guy in the Camo's and funny red hat). I finally snapped. If he told you about a buddy with a Cuda...thats me

UCUDANT, Yup, Barron is my neighbor. He just retired and got a job at the Newport News Shipyard a few weeks ago. His son loves my car. I typically like to blast past his house with the car on my way to work in the morning.

I don't have much to report because I have just been driving the wheels off of this car. I think the harder I drive it, the better it runs! It's an ANIMAL!

So, my girlfriend has been talking about learning how to drive a manual transmission car. Yup. I taught her how to drive a manual today in my GTX with the 18 spline. She did well. She's not speed shifting yet but that will come later.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 03/16/13 10:57 AM

Well, the GTX has gone on to its new owner.

I can honestly say that it was one of the best cars I have ever owned. Very reliable, very fast, and very fun.

I will miss it.

Re: '68 GTX Project - 03/17/13 07:14 PM

Superfreak, I know... Its crazy! I try not to think about it because its hard for me to even make sense of the madness.

Moparpollack: It is time for the A12!! I will be hitting it hard this summer and winter. My goal is to be driving it next June.

But, I traded the GTX for another project car that may divert some of my attention away from the A12. I picked up a project '70 Hemi four speed Challenger. I will start a thread on that in a few months once I get some progress on the A12 done.

Man, sucks to see you sell it. No more posts about beating on it like someone should beat on a Hemi car...
I look forward to the a12 build, though!

You have yourself two great project cars! I wish you the best on both and keep us posted with the progress. You had a great hemi GTX and I am very glad someone drives and beats on a real hemi car!
