get it running first... find some white stripe tires for the recall wheels and get them mounted.. clean it up ... probably fix the rust and paint it back B7 eventually dan

you can drive on them... no problem.. when new they would come loose because no one retightened the lugs like they were supposed to...

According to the information I found, the lugnuts would work themselves loose and re-torqueing them would result in cracking the aluminum center.

i looked at the brochure and dont see any triple stripe all seem to be single white stripe... i have 5 sets of these wheels and none are cracked one set i have driven on over the last 2o yrs dan

no, losing the preload on the wheel studs and driving it is what causes the cracking....keep 'em tight, and you're fine

Dan,hows the trunk floor in that thing? I have a clean section from a 69 New Yorker if you need it. It's cut between the frame rails,and is cut from the top curve in the front,and has the center part of the rear crossmember on the back of it. PM me if you need it.

Chrysler overreacted on the recall wheels. I know a guy in BC who has a 69 Barracuda that still has the original recall wheels on it and he has never had a problem. Just kept them torqued. Also, I have heard that they were sold in the 70's as an aftermarket wheel and no one had problems then either.

nick look at the bottom of the second sheet pic.. in the W section [WHL COVER] last one on the right on the bottom..you see a typed 3 and above it is the W2 [hence W23] use the attacahment i-con to open it dont try and look at it on the site.. dan

almost have all the hydraulics done, pulling the old motor tomorrow hopefully [weather] have the other 383 ready to drop in.. still need a few parts hopefully it will run soon... then next winter i,ll rebuild the orig engine! dan

little more done today..got the engine sitting level finally... using a dr side schumacher mount and stock pass side..had to cut off the locating tab and large nut they use [bolt is larger diameter than stock]..that way i could retain the original bolt and that let the engine sit level.. did the p/s pump, valve covers, ex manifolds and brackets, maybe next week i can get under it and do exh starter etc... dan

That's an Imperial style tire. GoodYear Power cushion I seem to recall. That exact size is a little too small for the 64-66 Imperials but perhaps used on the 67-70?

Now do something with that wiper motor!
This one had yellow overspray from the repaint on it & an hour of cleanup & some Eastwood satin clear & Yellow cad it looks a whole lot better.

I also have a few parts from the 35,000 mile Fury I parted not all that long ago. I know I have in cluster and a perfect set of A/C center vents. Would you want them before I toss them? Sure I will find more when I do more cleaning out.

well IT RUNS!... rebuilt carb i bought leaks at the front bowl swedge so the bowl in no good.. and the orig p/s hose is seeping... so i have one of those i just bought last week on flea bay... has a pretty thumpy cam also... exhaust next week it looks like so i can hear myself think@ dan
