My Ongoing 67 Belvedere II Projects

Glad to join this forum. Quickly scanning it looks like a lot if knowledgeable people. I have been building a couple 67 Plymouth Belvedere II’s over the years.

#1 67 all original paint interior. Built 340 904 3.23 Suregrip.

#2 67 Silver Special. As of now I’ve done subframe connectors, driveshaft loop, sway bar, carpet.

#3 66 Coronet parts donor to get the Silver Special where it should be. Will be 440 727 3.23 SureGrip.

Love these B Bodies…both are super clean cars.

Continuing to harvest parts of the old 66. Began prepping the 8 3/4..727 is out..Big Block is out and ready to be stripped. K Member coming out tomorrow. Also got a dash pad out with zero cracks.

Sold the parts car shell…cleaning up all the parts for the Big Block swap..ordered Cal Tracs..8 3/4 is going in soon..

7 1/4 out 8 3/4 in place.

Cal Tracs installed..homemade bushing press out of some 1/2 inch threaded rod, some washers and a couple iron pipe flanges. Works good 2nd set of Cal Tracs I’ve installed with it.

8 3/4 install and Cal Tracs is complete. Pulling the motor and trans next the. The V8 K Member is going in.

Motor and trans pulled…next is the k member swap.

V8/BB K Member is in with BB torsion bars…wasn’t a bad job. I normally paint up the trans cross member found this one with old swap meet pricing on it so I’m going to leave it. I clear coat over the center chuck to save the factory paint markings, I also left the paint marks on the torsion bars.

On the road spring of '23?

Potentially..I have to source the 440, short block at least. I’m relocating to Georgia after next summer so it may be complete minus the motor until I get settled.

Switched gears a little, a Mopar buddy of mine had a 383 HP short block from a 69 Roadrunner that’s going to do the job well. Nice factory cross hatch low mileage motor. Trickflow Alumimum heads and a nice nice cam incoming..

Do the 383 blocks require a notch to work with the TF heads. Because of the bore size

Just curious....What is the difference in the block between a run of the mill 383, and an HP?

They shouldn’t TF had heads specific for the 383/440. Definitely have the clay the pistons.

I don’t think a whole ton of difference..the HP’s are 10:1 compression ratio, I believe the pistons protrude from the bore as well, in stock from the 69 383 Roadrunner motor is 335hp/425tq.

Got the VHT turquoise sprayed…color looks good.

Engine color looks good.

Got the cam bearings in, ordered the cam and timing chain. Finally settled on the look I want.

What did you choose for a cam?
