1971 'Cuda survivor V code - 10/18/20 12:22 PM

Found a second broadcast sheet hiding in the back seat. Not only is it in mint condition, but it matches my vin, BS23V1B. Also discovered a seat belt that slipped under the cushion. Check out the original assembly line protective plastic on the buckle!

Please let me know if you are aware of any original paint, 71 440+6 survivor cars that exist?? I know of 1 other:
-Richard H's brown/white interior, column shift auto.

The original owner registered the car thru 1973 and sold it 36 years later with 25k miles. He ordered the car from Ketcham Motors, a small upstate NY dealership - 15×7 Rallye wheels, Rallye dash, console cassette player, leather buckets, slap stick and shaker. Mint original interior, carpet, leather seats, uncracked dash pad and 95 % original paint with no rust issues ever. Amazing time- capsule!

Yes, I know this car quite well, as I arranged the sale from original owner Lenny Williams of Poughkeepsie, NY, to Ed Belfour in 2005. At the time, Ed was also in the midst of restoring the 1-0f-5 71 BS27V1B 4 speed car, as well as acquiring the former Anatol Vasiliev 71 Plum Crazy Hemi Cuda and Bill Meerholzs' 71 340 Cuda convertible through me as well. Ed ultimately had "other irons in the fire", so some of the collection was subsequently sold, and it is great to see this car received the proper attention it deserved!

Lenny did in fact purchase it new, and had possession until the sale to Ed. I have known Lenny for many years given my race history in Super Stock Eliminator, and he in Stock Eliminator. The last inspection sticker on the car was in 1973.

The sale of the car provided him the means to purchase a Toter Home to travel to the races (He competes with a Buick!) with style!

The photo with the caption is from my website (www.billrolikenterprises.com) in the "Wheels and Deals" section, along with many others.

Great stuff!

Very cool car. Ketchum Motors is a small dealership at the corner of Route 52 and Route 9 in Fishkill NY! So cool that it came from near where I used to live.

Glenn

I looked at your car back in 2003 or 2004. Bill Rolik had set me up with a Black 71 Original paint 4spd car out of Hopewell Junction, NY and after purchasing that car the previous owner told me about the blue car. It was very nice car but at the time I only wanted 4spd cars?

Good luck with it!
