Engine was the correct turquoise. The second owner freshened it up.

Nothing has been changed on the interior. Original owner put the Sun Super Tach in it.

A lot of options for a Swinger

Great car......Too bad he re painted engine though, no matter how worn or crusty it looked, that's a mistake with a survivor.

Agree... I'm trying to get a look at that tire too, but keeps the detail pics of the car coming. I want to see more....
Here is the original tire from my 69 GTS as a comparison. I think the factory was using both Goodyear and Firestone tires.

Look at date on rim versus production date. 12 days difference.

The blue spare looks like a 5.5 wheel, is the black spare 5.5 or 4.5?

Re: 1969 Survivor paint Swinger - 03/29/18 05:22 AM

It's a 5.5"

Awesome car! Love the green paint and green top with the white bumblebee stripe. Like the look of it with the whitewalls to. That's truly an awesome find in that condition as most of those were beat into the ground and destroyed. Thanks for posting the pictures smile

I just noticed the window sticker you posted. My GTS is 205 after yours. Your Swinger sold brand new less than 20 miles from my house. Mine was sold brand new in Lakeland, Florida.

Sam Brown Dodge seemed like the place to buy performance Mopars. I think he sponsored a car that ran at Quaker City. We visited his dealership in 69 to view the green m-code Dart in the showroom, but wouldn’t let us take it for a test ride. Beautiful car you have there!

Your GTS is really nice. Do you do the Nats in Columbus in August?

Unfortunately, since my Uncle brought the car from Florida in 2005 it has never left my driveway. I usually just drive down to the Nats with my dad for a day, I haven't taken a car since 2010. I'd like to clean it up and drive it a little the way it is. A good weekend, and some extra money, and I could have it on the road wrench

Re: 1969 Survivor paint Swinger - 03/31/18 02:34 AM

You need to bring it to the Nats Friday and we can park the two side by side. That would be really cool.

Re: 1969 Survivor paint Swinger - 03/31/18 05:41 AM

If my GTS looked as amazing as your Swinger I'd spend the summer getting the car ready. My car was repainted sometime in the early 80s. The top and stripe are still original but the rear window at some point leaked and no there is rust in the lower passenger quarter.

Hey rck850. Very cool 69 GTS. Bring it out to the Nationals if you can. Love the patina. Also love the deluxe wheel covers. Great car smile
