Re: 71 Charger SE - 10/20/14 09:05 PM

Thank-you, since I first started getting into cars (1963) I've owned just about everything (except old Hemi) and while many people find this model unattractive, this one got my attention

Re: 71 Charger SE - 10/25/14 07:42 PM

Thanks, I can go on and on about the condition. Just about every nut and bolt body and trim wise has never been touched and I love all the trim to polish. I will tell everybody that "John" 2nd owner , took the original 383 out (its on a skid in my garage)and put a somewhat stock 440 in it. With his attention to detail on the swap, even has spark plug shields and working AC that the normal car person would be hard pressed to see the difference

Broadcast sheet for the 71 SE which I understand they are hard to come by on St. Louis built cars

Re: 71 Charger SE - 12/12/14 04:01 PM

What wheels did it originally come with? That's the only thing I would change.

Re: 71 Charger SE - 12/12/14 04:12 PM

Thanks everyone. The broadcast sheet shows 14" rallye wheels, which if I could find a very nice set. Finding nice trim rings and taking a chance on old rims plus the cost of shipping isn't worth it. I've thought about 15" magnums w/black wall tires. I would also mention, the car had new MP leaf springs installed and to my liking, they're too high. need to get different ones.

Re: 71 Charger SE - 12/12/14 04:53 PM

In the pix, you will notice a different bucket seat bracket, it is a bracket made by (Seat Rizer) which simply bolts to your original seat bracket and raises the seat by 2". I'm a regular size guy but I've always had trouble with the 71 b bodies (E bodies also) sitting so low. The cost was $45.00 which was way cheaper than the $500 for a broken 6 way. It's nice not having to worry about changing things

Try flipping the front spring perches. Should drop the stance without affecting the ride. Or, you could buy The Firm Feel perches which have an extra hole drilled so you can lower the rear.

Yep, what a difference. A 71 Charger without 15X7 rallyes just isn't complete.
