1970 Charger 500 Resto-Mod, Hoof Style - 08/03/12 12:44 AM
Bored, temporarily broke again and checking out everyones projects on Moparts, figured i'd load up a bunch of pics n progress / Before n Afters...
My Buddy owned this car for 23 years, a gift from his younger brother, with no fenders, hood, bumpers or grill he found parts, threw some FC7 over the original Lite Green, tossed on a vinyl top n drove it for years, then it sat for even more til I bought it from him earlier this year.
Some before n "Almost-After"s....

On the Bright n Rusty side, the Trunk looks worse than it really is
Actually quite solid with just 3 tiny unstrategicly drilled holes

Note how the Hint of Purple compliments the earthy Green and meshes ever so softly with the STANK OF RUST AND MOUSE CRAP !!!

Dash pad cheaply recovered ($7 material at fabric store, $12 can 3M Spray adhesive) Not that happy with pad, it's a 2 footer, but when you're sitting one foot away staring at it you know it's not quite factory issue, again done on the cheap

Re: 1970 Charger 500 Resto-Mod, Hoof Style - 09/26/12 12:45 AM
All paint used was Flat, found Satin in a can not consistent in spraying or drying
Chrome paint takes weeks to dry (You've been warned) Use a Hair dryer or the sun to bake dry

Re: 1970 Charger 500 Resto-Mod, Hoof Style - 09/29/13 03:00 AM
Not much to say except it's been a hell of a year finishing a car that took a backseat to more important issues in life.
Just got back from bodyshop a second time; The wetsanding and final buffing was put off til just last week. In hindsight I think the Mercedes Silver is Too Bright in the Direct Sunlight, but really nice in any other light.
Bunch of pics for the collectors.
