Already discussed the "rose inlay" pattern in other forum and it is definitely aftermarket paint. And good luck getting that kinda coin, I just traded off a survivor I figured was worth $35K...

Where was the rose inlay discussion?

I would be interested in knowing more about it.

I thought it was aftermarket.

That was done by painting through lace. You found the lace pattern you liked and taped it down then sprayed paint. When the lace was taken off you had your pattern left behind. It was pretty popular in it's day.

Very cool car for sure but the gap between asking price and true value is just too big to even bother calling them. Below is a '69 383 4 speed survivor in decent colors for $34K. Looks stock with only a bit of crud under the hood and a faded logo on the decklid.

Seems to me the price on the '67 is based on family sentiment, but in any case is well above the market, and the mods are hardly a boost.
I think the '69 car came out of a warehouse auction a while back - several Mopars stashed away - and not surprisingly was bought for a lot less than the CL price.
Its price isn't all that nuts compared to the other '68-'69 Barracuda 340-383 FBs I've seen, if its originality is equivalent to a nice-driver restoration.
There are a couple nice ones on Ebay, asking prices in the 29 - 35K range that appeal to me.

I tried to buy that car. I had the high bid at around 25K, went to lunch. Came back the auction closed at bid below mine?......I asked the auction house what happened, they gave me some BS.

I hear ya. I was high bidder online on a couple that sold for under my bid. I did get a 69 Barracuda, but it was the one I wanted the least...auctions are so shady. ALL of them.
