Interesting, though sad that it appears to have been disrespected.
There may be enough build details left to determine its history.
FT says originally red, but even new race cars could have been repainted, maybe every season or so.

I wouldn't say it's been disrespected. Looks like it hasn't been out since the 70's. That was 50 years ago.
