Tony -
Those were different '68 vs '69.
Yours look like the '68 style.

Regardless, WAY overdue product, rare as hen's teeth, and thanks!

The vinyl inserts were color-coded to the seats, so maybe a color other than black would be easier to dye or spray whatever color the buyer needs.
I doubt you want to make/stock every color...

Hi

these match the sets of 1969 bench seats i've had and have compared them to, and most 68s.
i have seen variables in the 68 emblems but havent figured out the rhyme or reason

they may look smaller when next to the backing plates

we only made black, i know its more difficult to dye, but they are pretty small and the few we dyed already took color pretty easily. the key to dying them is in the prep.

thanks for the support

Tony

Tony -

I'm going by the original '68 & '69 Decor Group Road Runners I've had, which were all St. Louis cars.
My '69s had a little chunkier medallion style than my '68s.
Most folks wouldn't notice, and I'm not bustin' your stones, just passing the info I've experienced.
Yeah, the backing plates were pretty big, and the push-on nature made 'em difficult to swap over to new covers.

Which interior options were these used on in 1969? Seems like a deluxe option, or did all bench seats have them?

Only Satellite and Road Runner Decor Group cars, which used the Satellite interior.
All '68 RR HTs were Decor Group cars, it was optional on coupes.
I've seen one '69 RR HT (in the late '80s) that had the base interior, but I can't say that was its original interior.
All of my own '69 RR HTs had Decor Group and were original.
Decor Group was optional on '69 RR coupes.
The standard RR coupe interior was same as Belvedere, no medallions.

Topside,
i welcome the input. beer

I've owned my A12 1969 road runner since 1981, it was built in June of 1969 at Lynch Rd and the interior is original, it hasnt been recovered and all the buttons are the long type like we made (see attached pics, black seat)

the buttons we made measure 2.13" + the spacing on the posts 1.58" center to center
its hard to see in the pics but how tall are the buttons you have?
and the post spacing on those?

ALL the 1969 cars i found online have the buttons like my car has and what we made except i only found 1 69 similar to the buttons like you have

all of the 69 seats I've had in the past all had the long buttons like i made

maybe it was a plant or vendor variant??

That's a good body of evidence, and now I'm wondering if it's an early/late thing or what the heck went on.
All my '68 & '69 Decor cars were St Louis, so may be a plant/vendor thing too.
No measurements handy, I just notice the styling.
I'm gonna quit worrying about it, though laugh2
