Bad rebuild burns up hemi. 241 dodge hemi. - 06/17/11 06:37 PM

Found the squeak the top side of the passenger side heads was bone dry no oil. Found the cause today. Shop installed the cam bearings wrong on number 4, pointed them towards the driver side, so no oil to the top on the passenger. Unfortunately it took me almost 5 years to get this far from the engine rebuild (which he ran over by 2 months on..)

Good news is I don't need a cam he did line up the bottom hole.. BUT I have to get a new gasket set, cam bearings, rocker assembly, for about $400... Just makes me sick to think about it. F'n attention to detail dammit.

boy that stinks ! attention to detail on any rebuild can make or break an otherwise great powerplant. hope you make out good on the refresh and don't find anything else that was neglected. for peace of mind, i would pull the engine and inspect the main & rod bearings closely as well as thoroughly clean the block to make sure none of the "squeeks" are "hiding" somewhere waiting to cause more damage.
