Chopping a sloped top like that often ends up looking terrible. This one looks fabulous. Gotta say, it looks way better than an original.

They do need as much help as possible in the looks dept....here's my Daughter's 61, some cosmetic brite work and a sinister color are all that's needed to make it "pretty"....

I never cared much for them until I saw this car.
I learned to appreciate them for how different they were after that.

Came across a 1970 TV series with Darren McGavin called 'The Outsider'. He plays a P.I. and drives a medium blue 61 four door. Condition and paint is fair in this episode, in later ones it deteriorates quite a bit.
