Waking from a long nap - 01/12/09 11:09 PM

The post about the 42 Plymouth got me to
There was a good episode on Spike about awakening an old Power Wagon.
What would be your list of stuff to wake up an old car after more than 10 years?
I mentioned cleaning the gas tank and lines, tune-up parts, fluids, and a fresh battery.

Check and replace WP, belts and hoses, starter, brakes.
Maybe pop the top on the carb. What would you add?

You refering to the TRUCKS episode. Well it takes the same to get anyvehicle running. My father-in-law and his son had a 60s valiant given to them that has sat for less than 10yrs and they are trying to buy a motor from me instead of trying to revive the engine that is in it. They are both /6s. I told my brother-in-law just get what you have running because its kinda dumb to pull a motor to replace it with the same thing. Good luck on getting it to live again. I have a 52 Dodge Pickup thats sat for some time before I got it and as soon as I get time to tinker with it Ill try to get the cheby motor that somebody discraced it with running and I will rebuild a 318 or 360 to take its place.
