1959 Custom Royal Barn Find - 08/11/14 07:46 PM

Wooo Hoooo!! Almost a month after I purchased it I finally got the '59 out of the barn where it spent 20+ yrs, loaded on the trailer(come along winch, upper 90s temp and ultra high humidity) and took it home.

I found out that it is optioned with: 361-4 barrel, Torque Flite, PS, PB, factory A/C and heater, AM radio with rear speaker, cloth headliner, Speed Notifier on dash, auto dimming rear view mirror, power seat, swivel seats, fold down armrest, dual remote mirror, Solex glass, lighting group(interior, trunk, glovebox), dual antennas, windshield washer, multi speed wipers, deluxe wheel covers.

...trunk... where the jack and original hubcaps were stowed. I had removed it before I took the pick, but a wide white wall 8.50x14 Bias Ply tire was still in the trunk. Original owners manual was in the glovebox in excellent condition. A true "barn find" time capsule!!

That is a cool ride! What are your plans for it? Gene

Thanx!

My plans as of right now- Get it running and driving someday. Then as time and money permits do body work/paint/rechrome. I want to eventually have it as close to how it came off the assembly line as I can get it.

I know it's not a 2 dr D-500 convertible... But I still love it!

Great find, it looks like they hit every option block when they ordered it......individually some of those options are likely worth what you paid for the car.

Good luck with the project.

Thanx for the compliments!! I'm proud to have found it and now own it. I have to assume it's somewhat rare with all the options. Regardless.... I think its a cool car!!

Lotsa options. Finally got the Broadcast Sheet out yesterday evening. It's pretty loaded with the exception of the D500 383 option.
