I JUST did this the past weekend. Wanted to use my SB race/brake trans behind a new 451 BB...I went with a JW bellhousing. $365 m/l and a few hours cutting and grinding the old bellhousing off the 727 and you're in business! Bolts to the front pump, and is SFI approved as a flexplate shield. That's my recommendation.

Did you go from a 727 to a 727? I want to put a 904 behind a big block. Building a new stocker on a bit of a budget.

I did, but JW makes a BB to 904 bell. PN 92459.
