Ported J head - Long head bolt crack - Quik on car fix - 11/09/11 04:01 AM

I have a crack in the long headbolt hole so oil is getting pumped into number one cylinder. Anyone have a quick and dirty way to keep from sucking the pan dry through the intake port?

maybe drill the id of the bolt hole out a lil ..and get a piece of copper pipe with od same as id..and press it into the bolt hole.
then re install new head bolt?

or something similar/ to that effect.

http://www.ksmetals.com/retail.html
K&S metals sold at ace hardware stores in Pa.
My local store stocks the size that slides into the bold hole with a little bit of clearance. I apply JB weld to the tube and it works great. Don't forget that one bolt hole on each head supplies oil to the rocker gear and if it applies to the one you are tubing that issue will have to be addressed.

Don't forget to thoroughly clean the bolt hole with a piece of rag, thin screwdriver and some carb cleaner before driving the epoxied tube in the hole.

I found the tube from k+s John! That was a good tip. I hope I can get it together and Kick Some Tail. The tube measures .531 in case anybody else runs into this. My trouble is in the oil feed hole so I will put a couple of notches in the tube. Thanks for the heads up you bailed me out
